GENERAL INFORMATION

The Tendring Hundred Farmers' Club holds an Annual Show at Lawford near Manningtree as shown on the map on the back cover of this Schedule.

The Veterinary Surgeon is:-

The Judges, named at each class heading, have consented and have been appointed to act as judges in the classes indicated. The Committee reserve the right to appoint substitutes for any who may be unavoidably prevented from attending and all entries are accepted upon that understanding.

PLEASE NOTE FOR 2018 Following the success of last year, the Ridden Heavy horse class will run again this year in the main ring. Some class times have changed, in particular the lead rein pony classes have moved earlier in the day, starting approx. 1pm

Important: Prize Money and attendance allowance to be collected as follows: ALL Equestrian classes, except heavy horse classes, from THE EQUESTRIAN OFFICE in the Horse Lines. ALL Livestock & Heavy Horse Classes, from THE SHOW OFFICE on the main showground. Please note: after 7.00pm all unclaimed prize money will be forfeited. No Prize Money can be sent following the Show.

HEAVY HORSE CLASSES Tendring Hundred Farmers’ Club acknowledge the time effort and considerable costs involved in the preparation and transport of Heavy Horses to Shows. For 2018 Tendring Hundred Farmers Club will:-

• Pay an attendance allowance of £30 for each heavy horse exhibited in classes 11 – 18, £50 for each Heavy Horse Single Turnout & £100 for a Double Turnout in class 19 / 19A (This does NOT include Class 18C)

• Prize Money will be paid down the line regardless of Entries

Attendance allowances must be claimed on the day of the Show – you will be given a Voucher to redeem on Show day – See Page 2 for details of how to redeem this.

ALL EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: There will be a Parade of ALL In-hand Suffolk and Mixed Heavy Horses during the In-hand Supreme Championship, and all those who are not competing in the Ridden Heavy horse class which follows, are kindly asked to parade please!

SUFFOLK HORSES

This Show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 11 – 14A are qualifiers for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship.

All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix.

All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book.

All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued.

18C RIDDEN HEAVY HORSE - Open to Purebred Heavy Horses 4 years old and over that are registered in the main British Stud Books of the Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Society. Horses must be entered in the name and ownership they are registered in. This class is a qualifier for the Kilmannan Ridden Heavy Horse Championship to be held at Equifest on the weekend of 12th August 2017. To enable the qualifier to be awarded there needs to be a minimum of three horses forward in the class on the day. The qualifier can be awarded no lower than third place in the event of the winning and runner up horses having already qualified.

Mountain and Moorland Ponies are restricted to the heights laid down by their appropriate Breed Society.

All stallions and colts, two years old or over, must be in possession of a current Ministry of Agriculture, National Pony Society or appropriate Breed Society Stallion Licence. For Dartmoor, Welsh, Highland (Highland colts can be licensed as stallions as two year olds), Dales, Exmoor & New Forest ponies this rule is extended to three years or over and for Shetland the rule is four years and over.

The First and Second place exhibitors from Classes 23 – 27 will go forward to the Supreme Championship Class 28A

Classes, 23, 24, 26 & 27 are qualifiers for the Ponies (UK) Spring Classic 2019, Equifest 2018 & BSPA 2018. 1st,2nd & 3rd place winners will

METHOD OF JUDGING: 1. Horses/Ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping

efforts. Course Builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance. 2. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10 - at the Judge’s discretion. 3. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination. 4. Fall of horse or rider will result in elimination. 5. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for overall impression at the

completion of each round. 6. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine the final placings. Should there still be an equality of marks,

the jumping marks will be taken into consideration - the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until

a result is achieved. Restricted to 30 in each section.

TGCA TOYS In Hand and Ridden Classes Pure Bred classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show “TOYS”. Classes are open to all pure bred traditional gypsy cobs. Stallions – All stallions (pure or part bred, four years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class MUST have be TGCA registered, have passed TGCA evaluations and their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Stallions and colts over the age of two, MUST be shown in a stallion bridle with a metal bit and chain lead as per the current TGCA rulebook. Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Regulations for the Tendring Hundred Show

1. The Executive Committee shall have power to cancel the Show, any class or classes, or to reject any entries, if for any reason they think fit to do so, in which case entry fees will be returned. The Committee shall not be required to state reasons.

2. For the purpose of the Show the expression "Tendring Hundred" shall include the Tendring District and the Borough of Colchester.

3. All entries must be made on the Club's official entry forms (photocopies will not be accepted) and accompanied by the entry fees. General Entries close on June 22nd 2018, Show Jumping 29th June 2018. Receipt with Exhibitors Numbers will be despatched before the Show. All exhibitors will have their address details printed in the Show Catalogue and agree to this information being supplied.

4. All stock exhibited for prizes shall be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor, or the exhibitor should have the written consent of the owner, at the time of making the entry and at the time of showing. No substitution of entries, nor transfers between classes, will be allowed.

5. The ages of stock, except horses, ponies and donkeys shall be calculated as at the day of the Show.

6. The Ground will open to stock at 7 a.m. Competitors must be available for Judging when required. No Heavy Horses, Neat Stock, Sheep, Pigs and Goats shall leave the Ground before 5.30pm.

7. No car, lorry or horsebox may be parked on the Showground, except with official permission and a displayed permit to park. After unloading they must be moved to the Car Park or Lorry Park.

8. All horses and neat stock shall be shown in halters or headstalls except where otherwise stated, and all animals shall be under the charge of a competent person who shall parade as and when required by an Official of the Show. Anybody riding a horse or pony at the Show must wear a hat approved by their governing body. Riding is only permitted on the routes to and from the Rings, in the Rings or Horse Lines. Horses found outside these areas will be disqualified.

9. Any objection to any award or prize must be made IN WRITING TO THE SECRETARY WITHIN 30 MINUTES AFTER THE JUDGING OF THE CLASS CONCERNED has ended on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of £25. If after enquiry the protest is considered frivolous such deposit may be forfeited. The complaint may not be dealt with on Show Day.

10. (a) The Club, its officers, servants, agents and employees will not be responsible for or accountable to any person whatsoever for any damage or loss, however caused, to the property of any such person, that may occur whilst upon the Showground or Car Parks or whilst entering or leaving the same.

(b) The Club, its officers, servants, agents and employees will not be responsible under any circumstances whatsoever for any accident loss or damage, however caused, that may occur to, or be caused by any person or to or by any animal, article, vehicle or equipment exhibited or brought onto the Showground or Car Parks. Each exhibitor or competitor shall accept sole responsibility for any such accident loss or damage concerning him and shall hold the Club, its officers, servants, agents and employees harmless and indemnify them against any legal proceedings arising therefrom.

(c) EACH EXHIBITOR AND COMPETITOR MUST HAVE ADEQUATE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE COVER.

11. In the interpretation of these regulations and in all matters arising from the exhibition of stock, etc, at the Show the Executive Committee's or their empowered representative(s) decision shall be final and binding.

Postcode for Sat. Nav : CO11 2ND DIRECTIONS: The Showground is situated at Lawford House Park. If travelling from Chelmsford on the A12, take A120 Harwich Road, then the third left to Little Bromley, about three miles along you will find the Showground on your left. Coming from Ipswich take the A137 signposted to Manningtree and proceed for approximately 10 Miles. You should cross the Stour at Cattawade and proceed past Manningtree Railway Station, up Cox's Hill and turn right when you will find the ground signposted to your left.
