    Proposal & Promise

    When one person signifies to another hiswillingness to do or to abstain from doinganything, with a view to obtaining theassent of the other to such act orabstinence,he is said to make a proposal.

    When the person to whom the proposal ismade signifies his assent thereto, theproposal is said to be accepted. Aproposal, when accepted, becomes apromise.
