LAURA wishes to thank WLIO for the opportunity, and J eff Gunter for the invitation to showcase ourclub and the UFO subject.

MUFON Database reports for Ohio, April 2013 to date.

A Coatesville, Ind., witness reported watching four dark colored, triangle-shaped, objects flying"roughly 100 feet above the tree top level" about 12:30 a.m. on April 11, 2013, in MUFON Case46728. Coatesville is a town in Hendricks County, Ind., population 532.

"I looked out of my window and observed a dark craft of triangular shape flying roughly 100 feetabove tree top level, moving steadily along a southwest heading," the witness stated. "It had a redsignal light at the center of its ventral surface and white running lights on all three points."

The witness assumed the object was an aircraft in distress and ran outside for a better look: "I livealong a residential lake of respectable size with houses close together. While looking for the craft, Isaw three more craft of the exact same configuration at approximately the same altitude (100 feetabove tree top) and all of them were following the same southwest heading."

"One passed over my house and I clearly saw a dark hull. It was a solid craft."

A guy who should ve known about Stephenvil le

Its a little weird to be briefing the recent chair of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee of theHouse Armed Services Committee on a UFO incident he probably shouldve heard about five years ago.But there you are, telling Dr. Roscoe Bartlett about an aircraft without a transponder making a run towardPresident Bushs Western White House in Crawford, Tex., in 2008, and about how military interceptorswere no-shows as thing approached the no-fly zone. But nobody bothered to tell Bartlett about it before.

"Look at us were just a very mediocre star on the edge

of the galaxy. If a map of the United States were the MilkyWay, wed be some little place somewhere way down in

Georgia. Were pretty insignificant. -- Former U.S. Rep.

    Roscoe Bartlett/CREDIT: politico.com

The former Republican congressman from Maryland listensintently. And you say they got it on radar? Bartlett asksfrom his home in Frederick.

Yep it was tracked for more than an hour; MUFON released a study nearly five years ago. F-16sevidently drew near the thing, according to the radar chronology, but the warplanes backed off. The 10-

term congressman asserts he Absolutely! wouldve wanted to know about such an event. I wouldnthave a problem making an issue out of it, says Bartlett, who was defeated in the 2012 election at age 87.Now, most members of Congress would probably shy away from this sort of thing because theyd have tosuffer through accusations of youre crazy or youre extremist. But I like to think Ive got an open mind.

The possibility of extraterrestrial life somewhere else in the universe, yes, it just has to be, says Bartlett. Can they travel here? Who knows? Ive got a totally open mind. I do know there are some UFO sightingsthat cant be explained.

Next frontier for Cheeks Kilpatrick: Panel exploring existence of alien life

Washington A group hoping to prove alien contact with Earth has tapped former U.S. Rep. CarolynCheeks Kilpatrick to help convince the federal government to acknowledge the existence ofextraterrestrials.

The Detroit Democrat and mother to former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will help preside over 30 hours ofcongressional-style hearings April 29 to May 3 at Washington's National Press Club. She did not respondto calls for comment.

Dubbed the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, the public panel pledges to expose evidence of"extraterrestrial vehicles" and a government effort to deny sightings of such craft commonly called UFOs.

Stephen Bassett, executive director of the Bethesda, Md.-based Paradigm Research Group that is hostingthe hearings, said he sought former members of Congress to interview dozens of witnesses in a style thatharkens back to their work peppering witnesses in congressional hearings.

"I had invitations out to about 50 former members who I thought were likely candidates to participate, andCongresswoman Kilpatrick was the first one to respond," Bassett said.

Kilpatrick became a U.S. representative in 1997 but lost her seat to Hansen Clarke after a 2010 primarychallenge.

Kilpatrick will be joined by five other former members of Congress for the hearings. Each will be paidabout $20,000 and their expenses will be covered, Bassett said.

J oining Kilpatrick on the bipartisan panel are ex-Sen. Mike Gravel of Alaska (Democrat and more recentlyLibertarian), as well as former Reps. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., Darlene Hooley, D-Ore., Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., and Merrill Cook, R-Utah.

The chosen panel members weren't required to believe in aliens or a government cover-up, but pledged tokeep an open mind.

"I made it clear to them that I am unlikely to be persuaded," Utah's Cook told the Salt Lake Tribune."Extraterrestrial life? I can buy into that as a possibility, but to this day I have not heard or read or seenanything that makes me believe that anyone has encountered one on Earth."

The Paradigm Research Group disagrees. "We've been tracking these (extraterrestrial) crafts fordecades," Bassett said. The evidence is "overwhelming beyond any reasonable doubt there's anextraterrestrial presence (and) almost certainly from another planet," he said.

The five days of testimony are to be filmed and included in a documentary.Bassett started the Paradigm Research Group, a lobbying organization, in 1996 urging the government toreveal evidence of extraterrestrials engaging the human race.

The organization collected enough signatures from fellow alien believers on a White House citizen petitionWeb page in 2011 to generate an official response.

"The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrialpresence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race," Phil Larson, from the White HouseOffice of Science and Technology Policy, wrote in response to the petition. "In addition, there is nocredible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye."

The Wall Street J ournal devoted part of a 2011 article on the White House's "We the People" petitionproject to Paradigm Research Group.

Bassett said he hopes the hearings will generate enough attention for the government to change its mind.

"There is a government policy of denial," Bassett said. "And once that policy ends, we are going to learnthe truth about this phenomenon pretty quickly."

Encounters: UFO Experience attraction in Myrtle Beach is outer sight

    Posted: Friday, Apr. 12, 2013

MYRTLE BEACH A walk through Encounters: UFO Experience will take visitors into another galaxy, letalone another world.

The new attraction opened April 6 in the northeast corner of Broadway at the Beach, in the area formerlyoccupied by the Bodies Revealed exhibit. The PR push for Encounters began a few days before, withan appearance by Stanton Friedman, the nuclear physicist and UFOlogist who worked on propulsionsystems in the 1960s.

Friedman said he foresees Encounters as a magnet for people who have seen things in the skies, drawing audiences from around the world, to inspire more people with an interactive resource incountering myths with factual information about flying saucers. He said few courses exist aboutunidentified flying objects, and that only 12 doctoral theses have been completed.

Viewing this museum as a comprehensive view on the subject matter, Friedman said, Absence ofevidence is not evidence for absence.

Artifacts here are set up in seven galleries.
