Laundry 43 is a renowned restaurant and bar in the coastal town of Busselton. Formerly known as Laundry Café, Laundry 43 transformed the local 100-year-old drycleaners into a culinary jewel in May 2012.
The owners have created a constantly evolving restaurant focused
on providing an incredible and unforgettable Laundry 43 dining
experience. The ever changing Laundry 43 menu is focused on
local South West produce, seasonal flavours, and eclectic pairings
with Executive Chef Nathan Thomas leading the forward-thinking
creative team.
Known to locals as ‘The Laundry’ and residing at the street number
of 43, the iconic Busselton restaurant has become a hot foodie
destination. Laundry 43 are proud winners of the 2016 Gold Plate
Award for Regional Licensed Casual Dining. The restaurant and bar
has a strong reputation for showcasing the finest food the famed
South West region has to offer and is a gastronomic jewel waiting
to be discovered.
Laundry 43 has now introduced ‘Catering Line’ - a custom-built
mobile kitchen on 16 wheels to deliver their signature outstanding
food and warm service to weddings, functions, corporate events,
and celebrations. Catering Line provides an exceptional experience
from event planning to genuine hospitality and execution, with a
former Michelin Star chef in the care of your guests’ food.
Catering Line brings to life the South West’s best restaurant at your
next event, so you can enjoy the highest quality food with a local,
seasonal focus and artistic flair.
ABOUT LAUNDRY 43
The Laundry 43 culinary team is led by Executive Chef Nathan Thomas, a highly-esteemed food connoisseur who has worked for Michelin star restaurants around the globe and world renowned chefs like Gordon Ramsay.
In spite of his impressive international credentials, Nathan’s passion
for food had humble beginnings where at an early age he was
inspired by his grandmother’s love of cooking, and this led him to
a career as a chef.
Nathan has worked with the best in the business and started his
chef life in 1995 at the 2 Michelin Star ‘Le Gavroche’ near Park
Lane in London. He went on to work as a pastry chef for Gordon
Ramsey’s 2 Star Michelin Restaurant, as well as in the role of Chef
De Partie at the modern French restaurant ‘The Square’ in London.
Nathan was promoted to Sous Chef and spent five years in the
kitchen of the ‘Ledbury’ in London, rated as the 10th best restaurant
in the world. Nathan was promoted to Executive Chef at 1 Michelin
Star restaurant ‘New Angel’ in Dartmouth and also worked at
‘Capo Bay Hotel’ in Cyprus. If chocolate is your passion Nathan
has also spent a lot of time training at Valrhona School of Chocolate
in France.
Nathan brings his worldly culinary experience to Laundry 43 to
create the best quality casual dining, that provides a contemporary
twist on native Australian, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines.
OUR CULINARY TEAM
Laundry 43’s bespoke ‘Catering Line’ mobile food truck is elegance on 16 wheels. An all-in-one kitchen, catering and serving facility - the Catering Line brings the classy and modern food that Laundry 43 is famous for to you and your next event.
The Catering Line will seamlessly feel like a part of your event with
custom built specifications that means our wait staff can serve
freshly prepared food to your guests as it cooks in front of their eyes.
Our specially designed mobile food truck is a sophisticated and
sleek Freightliner Argosy 550hp and trailer built by Aldom Trailers
in Adelaide, the trailer interior fitout has been custom designed and
built by Cliff Silke of Laundry 43.
OUR FOOD TRUCK
The Catering Line truck is fitted with airbag suspension to handle
all terrains, it is entirely self sufficient with water and generators for
electricity, setup in any condition is a breeze.
In the spirit of Laundry 43, the Catering Line has large panels that
open up to allow full view of the kitchen and the culinary team
at work. The open kitchen provides your event with excitement,
atmosphere and a conversation starter, as the enticing aromas fill
the air. Executive Chef Nathan and the team encourage interaction,
banter, and questions about the menu, and are excited to share the
stories behind the unique South West produce and ingredients with
your guests.
The much-loved Laundry 43 menu can be tailored for your next event to suit your individual tastes and special requests.
We pride ourselves on using the freshest seasonal produce that is
locally sourced making our food as farm to table as possible.
Our functions team will create a bespoke menu with you, based on
your event style and tastes, and to suit your budget. We are also
known for creating delicious food that can suit the allergies and
dietary requirements of your guests. Prior to your event, you will be
invited to sample your chosen menu at Laundry 43 to ensure you are
fully satisfied. On the event day, we provide trained food service staff
who are friendly, warm and helpful to ensure the success of your
function or celebration.
Catering Line is a full-service kitchen which means your menu can
be created based on your preffered style of canapé, buffet, banquet,
degustation, formal, or alternate drop.
A sample of our Laundry 43 entree and main dishes below will have your guests go from ravenous to impressed at your next event:
• Cowell Bay Oysters, natural or Vietnamese dressing
• MB 6-7 + score carpaccio of Margaret River wagyu, truffle mayonnaise, rocket and macadamia
• Tempura tofu, pickled ginger, shiitake, seaweed and Japanese mayo
• Falafel beignets, spiced eggplant, hummus, cumin yoghurt and fennel
• Beetroot baked in salt with hazelnut, goat curd and balsamic
• Mini lamb sliders, celeriac remoulade, tomato chutney and rocket
• Local whiting, hand cut chips with seaweed mayo
• Whole soft shell crab burger, squid ink focaccia, pickled cucumber, cos lettuce, sriracha mayo
• Seared Australian scallops, pumpkin gnocchi, pumpkin and mandarin puree, chicory (a bright blue flower)
• Caramelised free range pork hock, green papaya, nam jim, peanuts, rice
OUR BESPOKE MENU
We all know dessert is everyone’s favourite! Catering Line is not your usual event caterer as we will blow your expectations out of the water with our inventive and highly lauded selection of sweets and desserts.
The all-important dessert at your event can be displayed and served
in a style that best suits your event such as canapé, dessert table,
banquet, degustation, formal, or alternate drop. We are happy to
discuss and collaborate on unique ideas that are sure to impress.

• Chicory brulee with chocolate madeleines, caramel and chocolate ice cream
• Caramelised banana tart, banana crumb, sunflower seeds, Pemberton finger limes, homemade vanilla ice cream
• Bahen 70% chocolate pave, banana poached in beurre noisette, homemade banana ice cream, cookie crumb and hazelnut milk
• Tasmanian pepper berry pavlova with summer berries, lime, yoghurt and homemade vanilla ice cream
Catering Line can also provide a selection of freshly baked Laundry 43 dessert favourites such as carrot cake, chocolate brownie, coconut and date cake, biscotti and macaroons to suit the palette and preferences of your event.
