Thesameistrueinfindinghelpinone’swalkwithGod.TheApostlePaulsaiditthiswayin1Corinthians4:14-16,“Idonotwritethesethingstomakeyouashamed,buttoadmonishyouasmybelovedchildren.ForthoughyouhavecountlessguidesinChrist,youdonothavemanyfathers.ForIbecameyourfatherinChristJesusthroughthegospel.Iurgeyou,then,beimitatorsofme.” AtseeJesus,wemaynotbeyourspiritualfathers,perse,butwehopeyoupickupsomeideasworthimitatinginthe“LaunchIntoPrayerCards”coursethatcomplementsboththebookandtheseminarknownasAPrayingLife. Oddlyenough,manypeoplestruggletolearnhowtopraybecausetheyarefocusingonpraying,notonGod.Makingprayerthecenterislikemakingconversationthecenterofafamilymealtime.Inprayer,focusingontheconversationisliketryingtodrivewhilelookingatthewindshieldinsteadofthroughit.Itfreezesus,makingusunsureofwheretogo.Conversationisonlythevehiclethroughwhichweexperienceoneanother.Consequently,prayerisnotthecenter....Gettingtoknowaperson,God,isthecenter.
