TRANSCRIPT
The Latrobe Primary School B.E.R. project involved the construction of a new 940m2 multipurpose hall with 3 rooms, internal covered walkway, a music and stage area, visual arts rooms, 2 sports stores, 14 toilets, music and arts store, changing rooms and a new entry/corridor.
Construction materials include a concrete waffle pod slab with thickened edge and internal beams on a compacted gravel base, structural steel framing, Colourbond roof cladding, the extensive use of skylights and a combination of face brick and express wall panel external walls. Inside there are 7 large operable walls capable of dividing large areas into smaller spaces. Integrated services encompass fire detection systems, audiovisuals, solar hot water heating, water tanks and air-conditioning.
A large basketball court has been relocated close to the hall and the existing courtyard has been redeveloped through regrading and laying of a combination of pavers and a hotmix seal. Finally, a powdercoat perimeter fence and 2 large shade sail structures provide a safe and comfortable area for students to relax and socialise in.
