ScienceThis is the first time students have an entire class devoted to Science.

Our goal in 6th grade is for students to learn the foundation of science. We will cover the following topics in Science:

Introduction to Science and the Scientific Method

Earth and Space Science

Energy

Life Science – Plants & Animals

Grading Science

60% Assessments, 10% Labs, 30% Practice Skills (homework & in class assignments)

Your student will have a Weekly Science Review sheet each week, and it is due each Friday.

Social StudiesThis is the first time students have an entire class devoted to Social Studies.

Our curriculum covers the Western World:

Geography and Map Skills

Ancient Rome

Ancient Greece The Renaissance

The Middle Ages The Mayan, Incan and Aztec Empires

Modern Europe

Grading Social Studies60% Assessments/Projects

40% Homework/In-class Work

Your student will have a Daily Social Studies assignment that will be turned in at the end of each week that will be part of the in-class work grade.

Materials Needed for Class Same as Science class, except for instead of the Science

notebook, you will need your social studies notebook.
