DP World owns and operates some of the first privatized

container terminals in the subcontinent region, seing

the stage for the tremendous containerization

revolution that the region has experienced over the past

    two decades.

In India, DP World is a market leader in container

terminal operations and has the largest poolio of pos

along the Indian coastline. The network includes

terminals in Gujarat (Mundra), Maharashtra (Nhava

Sheva,) Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Andhra Pradesh

(Vishakapatnam) and a state of the a transshipment

facility in Kerela (Vallarpadam). DP World suppos close

Nhava Sheva InternationalContainer Terminal,Jawaharlal Nehru PoThe Jawaharlal Nehru Po is India’s largest container

po handling more than 40% of the country’s

maritime traffic. The Nhava Sheva International

ContainerTerminal, operating in JN po is DP World’s

flagship operation in India, and the country’s first

foray into public-private panership projects. The

terminal with a quay length of 600m and a designed

capacity of 600,000 TEU achieved an annual through-

put of 1 million TEU in its 4th year of operations itself

and has even handled 1.5 million TEU.

  • The terminal was set up in the shoest lead-time

for any project of its size and is managed under a

30 year Build-Operate-Transfer agreement set up

with the Jawaharlal Nehru Po Trust (JNPT) of the

Nhava Sheva (India)Gateway Terminal,Jawaharlal Nehru PoNhava Sheva (India) Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) is DP World

Subcontinent Region’s latest offering to the maritime trade

of India. The terminal will add one million TEU to the much

needed capacity in the region and overall capacity of the

Jawaharlal Nehru po complex (JNPT) will increase by 20%,

ensuring that JNPT retains its position as the foremost

container po in India in terms of volumes handled.

NSIGT built to a futuristic design and specifications will be

able to accommodate some of the largest vessels that will

be able to call at JNPT. The wha is equipped with the

world’s largest and most technologically advanced quay

cranes (4 super post panamax QCs–22 across/twin li).

NSIGT is a mix of efficiency and embodies our commitment

to customers around the world. It will be a state of the a

po that will provide safe, quick and efficient operations,

technology advancement and ease of doing business.

  • In April 2016, the Nhava Sheva (India) Gateway

Mundra InternationalContainer Terminal,Mundra Po As one of the most sophisticated and technically

advanced po facilities in the Indian Subcontinent,

strategically located in the State of Gujarat, Mundra

po is the closest gateway to India’s largest cargo

generating regions in the noh and nohwest.

When the Mundra International Container Terminal

commenced operations in 2003, it was a trigger to the

changing face of container trade in India. Up until 2003,

container trade was restricted predominantly to

terminals in the major pos across the coastline, and

no one really thought that a minor po in such close

proximity to India’s largest gateway (JNPT) would

succeed. The Mundra International Container Terminal

was India’s first greenfield project in a minor po to

    successfully commence container terminal operations

and hit the one million TEU annual container through-

    put milestone in 2014.

  • The Mundra International Container Terminal

also provides its customers with an integrated

container freight station (CFS) about 3 kms

outside the terminal. The CFS covers an area

of 20 hectares and provides enclosed ware-

housing space of 1.9 hectares and a 9.95 hect-

    ares open container yard.

    Chennai ContainerTerminal, Chennai Po

Located on the south east coast of India, the Chennai

Container Terminal is one of the most impoant

container gateways for South India’s container market

of 2 million TEUs. The terminal operates within city

limits and with a limited yard area.

Over the last decade the Chennai Container

Terminal has maintained its focus on exceeding

customer needs and anticipating future trends to

act as a driver for containerisation and industrial

growth in South India. A CFS, with a covered area of

6500sqm, operates within the po offering such ser-

vices as inspection, LCL de-stuffing and delivery of

    impo cargo.

  • The presence of the CFS within the po

    premises enables prompt convenient services

to impoers as well as passengers including

swi transshipment of LCL cargo to Inland

    Container Destinations such as Bangalore,

    Hyderabad, Cochin, Pondicherry and other

    locations.

  • India Gateway Terminal,Cochin Po.In 2004 Cochin Po awarded the concession to operate

the Rajiv Gandhi Container Terminal and to develop the

    International Container Transshipment Terminal at

Vallarpadam. Cochin Po is strategically located next to

the East-West trade route, only 11 nautical miles from the

direct Middle East - Far East sea-route. No other Indian

po enjoys such a strategic geographic proximity to the

major maritime sea routes. DP World Cochin serves as

the natural gateway to the vast industrial and agricultural

produce markets of the South & West of India. The

hinterland of this po includes the state of Kerala and

    pas of Tamilnadu and Karnataka.

Today 45% of India’s trade is transhipped over hub pos

like Colombo, Salalah, Jebel Ali etc incurring unnecessary

cost and additional transit time. ICTT being the first

transhipment hub in India, will play a key role in bringing

about a change for the benefit of trade and commerce in

    the country.

    DP WorldCreating the Future, Now.

  • Container trade in India has been growing year

on year by 15% over the last decade and the

Government of India believed that the

development of a transshipment hub within

the country would fuher augment this growth.

Cochin Po was the first po in India to realise

India’s dream of having her own transshipment

hub po. With its strategic position only a few

nautical miles from many of the major trade

lanes, ICTT is poised to become a natural hub

for India’s trade with the world. DP World is the

majority shareholder of the terminal with other

paners being the Container Corporation of

India (CONCOR, a Government of India

    undeaking), Transworld Shipping and

    Visakha ContainerTerminal,Visakhapatnam Po

The Visakha Container Terminal (VCTPL) is a

deep-water gateway terminal on the Bay of

Bengal coast of India, between Chennai and

    Kolkata. The Visakha Container Terminal,

located on the Indian East Coast was set up

in 2003, under the aegis of Visakhapatnam

Po Trust as a joint venture between United

Liner Agencies of India (Private) Ltd and

    DP World.

It is endowed with a natural depth of 16.5

    metres alongside, excellent marine

    infrastructure and overland connectivity.

  • These are complemented with contemporary

    infrastructure that the terminal has

continuously developed over the last 10 years.

It has now embarked on extending the beh

length and enhancing its handling capacity

to two million TEUs in the next three years.

Qasim International Container Terminal, Poof Muhammad Bin QasimThe Muhammad Bin Qasim Po Project is one of the largest po privatization projects in

Pakistan and is a testament to the Government’s commitment to providing the

international trade community with a world class po facility suppoed by the latest

technologies and second to none efficiency. Commencing operations in 1997, the success of

the container terminal has been an engine for economic development in the country and

has created a significant number of job oppounities for local nationals in addition to new

business oppounities for local companies in the region.

In August 2006 QICT signed a concession agreement with the Po Qasim Authority to

develop a second container terminal at the po for an estimated investment cost of

USD 325 million. In the first phase of its development the new terminal is suppoed by a 615

meter long quay length, 25 hectares of back up yard and a handling capacity of 21,450 TEUs.

The terminal is the only container terminal in Pakistan which employs its own private labour

which in turn results in a huge saving for our shipping lines customers as they do not incur any

Dock Labour Levy charges per TEU which are otherwise charged at terminals in Karachi Po.

  • Today the combined capacity of the two existing

container terminals is 1.2 million TEUs.

Since May 2008, the terminal has been managing an IC3

Programme, which is pa of the Safe Freight Initiative

under US Customs and Border Protection, with the aim

of 100% scanning of container prior to entering US pos.

The terminal also has the distinction of being the first

Pakistani Company to receive the ceification of

Security (ISO 28000), CT-Pat compliance. Being at a

strategic location which is only 13km from the National

highway, Po Qasim is well connected to major

hinterland markets suppoing 70% of the country’s

expos. The 14km long rail siding within the terminal

comprises of 6 rail tracks that connect to the National

    railway grid.

Going Beyond the GateContainer Rail RoadServices

DP World Intermodal also known to many

as Container Rail Road Services (CRRS) commenced

operations in 2007 when the Ministry of Railways

opened up the rail sector to private paicipation,

allowing for private container rail operations for

transpoing containers across the country. It was

an oppounity for ‘DP World’, to get close to its

customers and offer services ‘beyond the terminal

gates’ into our customers’ logistics chain.

  • Our focus then and now is to challenge the

status quo; working proactively with our

customers to find the best solutions and

    applications to assure ‘sustainable’ long

term relationships. In our initial years, we

have acquired 7 brand new BLC rakes, and

we staed operations in October 2007

    connecting major hinterland depots in

Delhi NCR, Ludhiana and Ahmedabad to

Mundra po. Over the years and with the

suppo of our Customers, we have

expanded our reach to other gateway

pos on the West Coast of India. In

    November 2010, DP World Intermodal

entered into an agreement with CONCOR,

the country’s largest Inland terminal and

Rail Operator, to provide EXIM trade in

Noh India an unmatched alternative for

    connectivity to major pos.

Dry Po atLahore – ICD Prem NagarThe ICD at Prem Nagar is strategically located to suppo

the Punjab and Noh West Frontier Province markets.

Today this hinterland accounts for close to 70% of

Pakistan trade. In 2008, Qasim International Container

Terminal signed an agreement with Pakistan Railways to

develop an Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Prem Nagar

Railway Station 22 km away from Lahore city and

operation staed from 2011. By providing the trade

fraternity with a more reliable and secure mode of

transpoing their containers from the hinterland to the

pos, impoers and expoers now save on significant

costs incurred by transpoing goods by road.

  • NLC Container Terminal operated by DP

World is an off dock Container terminal

located in the hea of the city just 2kms away

from Karachi Po. QICT is the only terminal in

Pakistan that provides its customers with an

option to clear the container from either

QICT or clear the same from our off dock

container terminal ‘NLCCT’. QICT the only

terminal operator in Pakistan that has taken

its services beyond the terminal gates into

    the customers’ logistics chain.
