    GB Waterstop Structure of Perimetric Joint of CFRD

    Features of GB Waterstop Structure from top downward:

    l  GB-EPDM protective cover, an independent defense line with high aging resistance.

    l  Corrugated rubber waterstop supported by a rubber rod, specially designed to the

    action of joint deformation and impounding pressure.l  GB filler, cold paving rubber plastic filler, with excellent flow sealing ability and high

    workability on the site.

    l  GB-copper waterstop, with GB sealant plates adhered to the two wings of the copper

    to improve its side imperviousness. The loop size of the copper is also specially

    In the traditional joint waterstop structure of CFRD, a central bulb waterstop is

    buried in joint concrete to serve as the middle dense line. Due to the poor

    compactness of the concrete surrounding the waterstop and the deficiency of

    deformation ability of the central bulb, this kind of waterstop has been proven

    to be improper to perform its role of waterstop in joint.

    In GB waterstop structure, the corrugated rubber waterstop is fixed by bolt on

    the joint concrete surface to substitute the central bulb waterstop. The size of

    the corrugated part is specially designed to absorb the joint deformation.

    In China, corrugated waterstop has been widely used in CFRD joint,

    especially those higher than 100 meters. Recently, it is also accepted by the

    designer of Bakun CFRD of Malaysia.

    Corrugated rubber waterstop is normally fixed by bolts on the top of

    perimetric joint of CFRD, underneath the GB filler.

    GB-EPDM cover is a composite rubber plate composed of EPDM (Ethylene

    Propylene Diene Monomer) plate and GB sealant layer. It can be used both as

    a protective cover for the plastic filler, and as an independent defense line for

    the top waterstop of CFRD.

     As a waterstop composite material for waterstop, it presents a multiple

    function. With the perfect resistance to ozone and heat ageing, EPDM layer is

    a protective layer at the external surface; undersurface, GB sealant is applied

    to solve the poor adhesion of EPDM layer with GB and concrete.

    Instructions for Use

    Installation of Corrugated Rubber

    Waterstop

    l  Concrete surface should be dry, compact and sound;

    l  Clean concrete surface from dirt, oil, grease;

    l  Apply SK adhesive on the surface according to the adhesive

    instruction. In case of wet surface, special adhesive should be

    used.

    l  Pave GB filler by hand as seeing in the photo.

    l  Clean the concrete surface;

    l  Lay waterstop into the groove of joint entrance;

    l  Drill hole on the rubber and concrete by blow hammer;

    l  Fix waterstop on concrete by the expansion bolts.

    l  Clean the concrete surface;

    l  Lay cover into the groove of joint entrance;

    l  Drill hole on the cover and concrete by blow

    hammer;

    l  Fix cover on concrete by the expansion bolts.
