“...A performance that mesmerized the audience and challenged themto look at the stereotypes in creating an alive and vibrantunderstanding of the situation in Palestine, that is not to be found inanything else we see, hear, or read.”
“...Touching, sensitive, dramatic, melodramatic, hilarious, agonizing, understated and exaggerated...”

“Last Supper in Palestine” is initiated by Amsterdam based, SimonRowe, as part of his “Globalocal series”, a series of projects beingrealized in different cities, internationally. Following his involvementin the occupied Palestinian territories. He was inspired to create aperformance with Palestinians that would communicate their dailyreality of living under occupation. He invited Iman Aoun, and AshtarTheatre, to create a performance presenting the people, their culture, the situation in Palestine. “Last Supper in Palestine”, a critical reflection of Modern Palestine
presented through physical-theatre by a group of Palestinian performers.Approached with a touch of irony tragi-comedy and ridicule, theperformance exposes the seriousness of the Palestinian situation, the plightof a people living under constant siege. Drawing associations between thefate of Palestine and the Last Supper of Christ, the performers wrestlewith their fate, twisting and bending to persist, dedicated to the fulfilmentof a dream against all odds. It’s not over yet...
