LASER LIGHTING INDUSTRY NEWS UPDATE
GLARE
With the amount of LED hitting the market GLARE is a word that is coming back. Discomfort glare is caused when viewing a bright LED point source. This is why we work with companies like SELUX Lighting who address GLARE issues when using LED as a light source.
a) AVANZA – Research and design to produce a free form reflector system using efficient high power LED. HOW? - using direct light and reflected light with a cross beam reflector system, LED cluster are aligned in set position to deliver even luminance’s across the reflector for optimum visibility and appearance. See attached PDF regarding this product.
b) M36 SYSTEM – LED 24watts per linear meter using range of optics and diffusers to control glare. See attached PDF regarding this product.
c) AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURE – Laser 100 BOX RECESSED continuous lengths. We have recently been asked to provide a high power Philips Fortimo LED at 1100 Lumen for each 280mm length of LED, but glare control was a major problem. Our solution was to use a matt low glare louvre with an option of either opal or ice diffuser to lay over the top of the louvre. The opal was chosen for this project. This solved our glare issue for the project and all parties were very happy with the sample provided for approval. See photos on following page

Light control
Precision made diffusors are designed for a variety of lighting tasks and guarantee maximum efficiency and consistancy.
Opal diffusers are LED optimised and highly homogene-ous. Satiné difusers (PMMA) are provided for high effici-ency. Clear diffusers with slide-in microprisms provide a brilliant and clean effect.
A high-gloss coated, 3D moulded microlouvre surrounds the LEDs. The light from the individual LEDs is emitted at the side via double parabolic reflector surfaces and guided in the direction of the primary light. The result is premium-quality glare control that conforms to all in-dustry standards and fully utilizes flux optimization. Light Modulating Optics (LMO) cast from solid profile enable precision light control with the visual effect of an uninterrupted lines of light.
