    Parish Pastoral Council Meeting: Members of the PPC are asked to attend a face to face meeting with

    social distancing on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00pm in

    the St. Joseph Parish hall.

    Pastoral Moves: The Diocesan Website www.dol.ca has current information about the ordinations that took place last weekend in London as well as the Pastoral moves that will take place in September as announced by the Bishop.     Congratulations: We extend a very warm welcome to the adults who recently

    received their Sacraments of Initiation:

    Trung Mai from SH, Haley Polegato from

    SJ, Sarah Trombley from SP were

    baptized. Ernie Gerard from SJ, who was baptized in

    another faith, was received into the Catholic Church

    through a Profession of Faith. Laura Palazzolo and

    Sydney Tuquero received the Sacrament of

    Confirmation. We also congratulate Evan Pszczonak

    who participated in our RCIA and was received into the

    Church a week earlier at a neighbouring parish.

    A special thanks to the RCIA team: Diane Aversa,

    Diane Bertram, Rebecca Bondy, Victoria Eid, David

    Ferranti, Sue Orcsik, Rita Raniwsky, Marguerite Wales

    and Paul Kosokowsky. Heartfelt thanks are given to the

    Parish Sponsors and Personal Sponsors who journeyed

    along with those who completed their Sacraments of

    Initiation. Thanks to Mary Jean Maio, Victoria Eid,

    Dave Ferranti and Diane Aversa for organizing and

    serving the reception, John Robinson for the music at

    Mass and Tony Magri for the PowerPoint.

    1st Communions: Many of the children who were expecting to receive their 1st

    Communion after Easter have been

    receiving the Eucharist at our weekend

    and weekday Masses. We congratulate

    the following children who made their

    1st Communion during these past two

    weeks: Parker Hanchar, Milana Vidler,

    Bradley Soltis, Christian DiPonti, Addison Tumak,

    Simone Reaume, Mick Matte, Zavier Navarro, Micah

    Joint Finance Committee Meeting: Finance members are invited to attend a face to face meeting with social distancing on Wednesday, August 26th at 7:00pm at St. Joseph Parish in the hall.

    Registration for First Reconciliation & First

    Communion: Registration for both sacraments will begin in a couple of weeks. Children

    entering grade 2 this September will be asked

    to register online. We have prepared an

    online Reconciliation course that is required.

    Please check the upcoming bulletin for more information.

    One of our Saturday Masses will be

    Weekend Mass Reminders:

    Our weekend Masses have been filling up quickly! A reminder that you must register to attend a weekend Mass.

    Registration begins on Monday until Noon on Thursday. You must call weekly if you wish to attend.

    Please arrive on time. That is, the time that was given to you over the phone. This will help maintain a steady

    flow and hopefully avoid a long line outside.

    Masks are not mandatory but very strongly encouraged. You must bring your own. They will not be provided.

    Doors are locked 5 minutes before Mass begins. Latecomers will be turned away.

    Remember to social distance at all times. We ask that you remain 6 feet apart from other people outside of your

    family.

  • FAMILY OF PARISHES NEWS UPDATE

    St. Vincent de Paul: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is available to anyone who is in

    need of help. Whether it be for food, clothing, furniture

    or moral support, the society would be happy to help

    you. Call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at 519-253-

    7481.

    COVID Stage 3 Update: Now that we have entered into Stage 3, we are able to lift some restrictions

    that were in place.

    The parish office is OPEN. If you would

    like to come to the office you may do so

    by calling ahead of time to let us know

    you are coming. All doors will remain

    locked but we will meet you at the door, ask you to sign

    in and sanitize your hands.

    If you have a loved one in the Crypt you are

    welcomed to come and spend some time with

    them. The gates to the Crypt will remain

    closed. There will be a chair positioned

    outside for you. Please contact the parish

    office to set up an appointment.

    Music has begun again at all parishes. If you

    wish to participate in the singing please be

    sure to have your mask on covering both

    mouth and nose.

    All previous Ministry and Parish

    Organizations can resume meeting if

    they wish. If your group would like

    to start meeting please contact the

    parish office to review the new

    protocols and to book your location and time. NO

    HALL Rentals for private functions are allowed.

    Remember that we are all in this together. Let us be

    kind, patient and considerate to those around us. We are

    still all getting use to this new “normal”.

    One kind word can change someone’s entire day!

    Memorial Stones: Thank you to the St. Joseph Gardening committee for completing the landscaping around the new front porch. The trees and hydrangeas were generously donated by parishioners and members of the committee. Much appreciation goes to Ron Burns, Tony Magri and Kirk Bertelle for installing the Memorial stones and to Evariste Renaud for repainting the faded stones.

    There are many blank Memorial stones available for purchase. Bricks can be ordered for any occasion: celebrating births, weddings, sacraments, graduations, anniversaries, family recognition, or in memory of a loved one. Please call the office for more information and request forms.

    Missals: We will not be providing or selling any missals. If you would like your own missal to bring to Church you will have to purchase it on your own.     Pray for the Sick in our Family of Parishes: Ken Gaspar, Joanne Hagman, Larry Marcotte, Diane Ryan and Allan Taylor.

    Pray for the Deceased, especially, Sandra Fazekas, mother of Paul (Shelley), Gail Kirchhoefel, wife of Siegmund and Joyce O’Gorman, that they may find peace in the loving arms of the Lord.

    FAMILY OF PARISHES’ FINANCES

    Crisis in Lebanon: Development & Peace

    Emergency Fund: The situation in Lebanon following the August 4th explosion has been

    described as “beyond imagination.”

    Thousands of people have been affected with

    159 deaths, over 6,000 injured, and over

    300,000 people left homeless. The explosion has also

    worsened the country’s social, economic, and political

    crisis.

    Development and Peace’s partner, Caritas Lebanon, is

    providing food, water, medical aid, and psychological

    and social support to those impacted by this crisis.

    Development and Peace and its trusted network of

    partners in the country are also assessing the long-term

    impacts and needs of this crisis.

    Please join in Pope Francis’ invitation to pray for the

    victims, for their families, and for all of Lebanon. Please

    also consider joining the Pope in responding to this

    desperate cry for help by donating to the emergency relief

    effort at Development and Peace – Caritas Canada
