OPENING

Logistics Manager, Jim Dickson, called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. He led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

DISTRICT MISSIONThe reading of the District Mission was completed by all present at the meeting with the leading done by Kayla Krippner, Area 41 Director.

District MissionWe build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence.

INSPIRATIONAL READING

Our opening inspiration was presented by Pat Reisdorf, “Be Remarkable” with credits given to mannatecheurope.com with design by A. Robinson and music by Faith Moss.

WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS

Welcome Topic: Everyone was asked to share “What you remember about last year in your leadership role”. Jeffery Lehmann, our IPDG, mentioned the “TEAM approach --- Together Everyone Achieves More”.

ADOPTION OF AGENDA

There were two changes to the agenda. The PRM report will be given by Mary Lynn Edwards. The Group activity after the DEC meeting adjournment was named “Your Life in Jeopardy”.

ADIMINSTRATION MANAGER

Debra K Toohill stated there were 23 of 32 District Officers present which constitutes a quorum.

The May minutes were presented for approval. There were no changes besides the corrected “stayed calm and collected”. Minutes approved.

The April minutes were amended to correct the spelling of the word “today”.

Lino Carrillo, Division A Director, made a motion to make the change to the phrase “to day” to the word “today”. The motion was seconded by Andrew Nippert, Area 21 Director. Carried.

Bala Sreedharan presented the Treasurer’s report as attached:

LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE UPDATE

Jeffery Lehmann passed out a revised list that included the names for the additional appointments. Electronic format, from Val Horton, attached:

Pat Reisdorf: DEC Leaders Confirmation

Rakesh Chandra, Division E Director, made a motion to approve Jeff Arnold as the Division A Director for 2016-2017. The motion was seconded by John Wesser, Area 11 Director. Carried.

Rebecca Zentko, Area 30 Director, made a motion to approve the appointments of Rich Lane as the Area 62 Director and Jeff Metters as the Area 10 Director for 2016-2017. The motion was seconded by Matt Bartusek, Division C Director. Carried.

Noting: This news needs included at the next Council meeting.

FALL CONFERENCE NEWS

Darrel Felty and Debra K Toohill presented the following news:

The conference theme: “Giving Courage Through Encouragement!”

The date of the conference is September 30-October 1. 2016.

The venue is the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel in Decatur, IL.

The Keynote Speaker is Lance Miller, the 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking.

ADJOURNMENTPat Reisdorf adjourned the meeting at 10:54 AM. There will be a 10 minute break, then the group activity will begin at 5 after 11.

Matt Bartusek, Division C Director, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Lino Carrillo, Division A Director. Carried.
