LANGLEY FINE ARTS BULLETIN OCTOBER 6 TH EDITION FROM THE OFFICE Individual Students Photos Your child should have received their individual photos. Orders are due by Wednesday, October 11 th and can be made online using the instructions in the photo package. Alternately, Kindergarten to grade 7 students can bring orders in to their teacher, and grade 8 12 students can bring orders in to the office. School Cash on-line Pay Your Fees Online! It’s CONVENIENT, quick and you will always know what fees are paid or outstanding! Also, for refunds it’s a quick and simple process rather than waiting for a cheque to clear, then the office issuing a refund. For safety and efficiency reasons, the School District would like to reduce the amount of Cash & Checks coming into our school. Please join the thousands of parents who have already registered and are enjoying the convenience of paying ONLINE! It takes less than 5 minutes to register. Please follow the step-by-step instructions following in the bulletin, so you will begin to receive email notifications regarding upcoming events involving your child(ren). Graduation 2018 News! Grad Cruise Grad cruise takes place Friday, January 28, 2017. Tickets go on sale December 1 st . FEES AND RETURNED TEXTBOOKS MUST BE UP TO DATE or tickets will not be sold. Commencement The Commencement Ceremony will be on Wednesday, June 13 th at Church in the Valley (Aldergrove). Students are to arrive at 3:30pm for individual photos, followed by a group photo 4:30pm. Students are then organized for the ceremony. Doors open at 5:00pm, with a starting time of 5:30pm. There will be a tea following the ceremony, hosted by Grade 11 parents. TICKETS: Each student may have FOUR (4) free tickets, and each additional ticket is $10. EXTRA TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS, and cannot be “reserved” without paying. NON GRAD STATUS (fees or books owed, or courses not complete): No tickets will be issued until cleared. Dinner Dance Dinner Dance day is Wednesday, June 20 th and will take place at Newlands Golf and Country Club (parents are encouraged to attend). TICKETS: $65 for students, $80 for guests/parents. GUEST PASS must be submitted before ticket will be issued. NEW guest pass must be done. NON GRAD STATUS (fees or books owed, or courses not complete): No tickets will be issued until cleared. Once tickets have been purchased, students will be able to write their names on the table list. Table locations are assigned by Newlands. DRY GRAD: Takes place AFTER the dinner dance, and is organized by parent volunteers.

Noon Hour Supervisor needed at LFAS Do you or someone you know want a part time job working as a Noon Hour Supervisor here at LFAS? Please apply at the Langley School District office at 4875 222 St. in Murrayville. FROM THE COUNSELLING OFFICE Langley Fine Arts Grade 10/11/12 Parent Night Join us for an informational evening hosted by the Langley Fine Arts Administration and Counselling teams. The evening is open to parents and students currently in Grade 10,11 and 12 who will be graduating in 2018, 2019 or 2020. What: Topics will include Graduation requirements, Post-Secondary applications, Scholarships and Curriculum

changes. When: Thursday, October 19th, 6:00pm – 7:15pm in the Chief Sepass Theatre. McGill University Information Session There will be a McGill University Information Session on Wednesday November 15th from 3:10pm - 4:00pm in the LFAS Library. FROM THE P.E. OFFICE Congratulations to staff and students for making the LFAS Terry Fox Run a huge success! Hundreds of middle school and secondary students walked and ran for Terry Fox. You can still make donations on line or to the office. Ben Laird in grade 12 came in 1st place overall, Shifra Hetherington in grade 10 came in 2nd and Cadell Rees in grade 10 placed 3rd – congratulations!
