LuggageAll luggage should be "soft" luggage and your son/daughter should be able to easily carry their own luggage. Should have a padlock.(1) Electronic items - I would strongly advise you not to allow your son/

daughter to take these on the trip. The ethos of the trip is to communicate with others in the group and enjoy the sites of the "great out doors". It is doubtful that pupils will have time to play on electronic games and they will not be allowed to take them on the daily fieldtrips. ipods are acceptable.

(2) Mobile phones: I am happy to be a point of contact for parents during the trip, so students should not need to take their own mobile phones. Please let me know if you would like your son/daughter to take their mobile phones. There are phones in the room.

(3) Insect repellent - I would strongly advise you to purchase DEET based insect repellent and for your son and daughter to have a good supply. Remember Langkawi is not at present listed as a malarial zone, but please consult with your family doctor if you have any worries in this respect.

(4) Carry on luggage - money to buy water and snacks after security, medication.

• Emergency Action plans have been planned with Ecofieldtrips: Air evacuation to hospitals on Langkawi or to the hospital on Penang.

Page 17: Langkawi Parents Evening

Diving Specific information• All dives will be no more than 12m in depth• All pupils already have a qualification in diving so a medical form

is not necessary, however I would prefer it if parents went through the exercise of completing a PADI medical form with son(s)/daughter(s)

• There will be 2 instructors and 1 Divemaster looking after the group. A ratio of 1:6.

• Junior Open Water Divers will buddy with Mr.Ferguson• All students must take their Certification Cards and provide

details of their last dive• I can organise a refresher session through a company in Hong

Kong if there is a demand
