Two record breaking years have seen Lane End Conference Centre achieve its best results in its 46 year history.
The Buckinghamshire based venue achieved record-level profit at the end of the 2015 financial year and, combined with the success of 2014, it has seen 19%
increase in revenue compared to the year ending August 2013.
“Strong financial figures tell its own story but recent success can also be attributed to ongoing refurbishment,” comments Heni Fourie, Sales and Marketing Manager of Lane
End Conference Centre. “It would be easy to rest on our laurels and simply retain our profits. But we understand the need to constantly evolve as a venue. The fact that we
are an independent venue enables us to freely invest a considerable amount of our annual profit into refurbishment and maintenance.”
Continued investment has seen Lane End focus heavily on refurbishment with a four-year plan due to be completed in August 2016. The project has been in motion since
2012 and is worth £2.2million with more than £550,000 invested each year.
“The most recent development has been that of The Cedar Club which was completed back in August,” Heni continued. “That alone was valued at more than £950,000 but
already it has had a significant impact on bookings and revenue. The completion of the entire project next year will maintain our position as one of the leading venues outside
of London.”
Developments already completed include structural improvements to all meeting and training rooms which increase exposure to natural daylight as well as increasing Wi-Fi
capabilities to 200mbps and the inclusion of high specification equipment.
Ongoing improvements include bedrooms in both Wycombe Lodge and Wycombe Court which are due to be completed in the summer of 2016 with more than £690,000
invested. The Pavilion, a self contained conference venue is also receiving a £200,000 refurbishment in December. This development project will include a new 100-seat
dining room and three large syndicate rooms to compliment The Pavilion’s main conference room, with its remarkable views and wall-to-wall bi-fold doors opening onto large
terrace.
Lane End Conference Centre offers a unique modular design with five distinct and completely self-contained conference buildings – each offering bedrooms, meeting
facilities, bar, lounge and dining room – available for exclusive use.

Annual investment of more than £500k has helped Lane End
Conference Centre achieve record financial performance.
The Buckinghamshire venue has reported a 19 per cent increase in

profit this year.
A four-year investment project will see more than £2 million poured into
refurbishments by completion in August 2016.

Home News Venues & Events Lane End’s sports and leisure centre ‘The Cedar Club’ offers perfect backdrop for events
Category: Venues & Events Created on Wednesday, 16 September 2015 16:00
‘The Cedar Club’, a brand new event space at Lane End Conference Centre, is providing the perfect backdrop for delegates to unwind away from the hectic
nature of business.
Since the launch of The Cedar Club, which cost more than £914,398 to create, Lane End Conference Centre has seen an increase in bookings since the start
of the financial year.
The Cedar Club is an indoor leisure facility which boasts two indoor virtual golf booths, a games room, a fully equipped gym, sauna and steam room. It also comes with a
comfortable and contemporary lounge, bar and outside terrace.
“The Cedar Club offers delegates and attendees a place to network and engage with each other away from work whilst benefiting from the leisure facilities on offer,”
comments Heni Fourie, Sales Marketing Manager at Lane End Conference Centre. “Meetings and training can often be quite taxing on delegates so more and more
businesses are looking for something a little different to achieve greater engagement and interaction. We wanted to offer something on-site that encouraged delegates to relax
after a busy day and complimented our state-of-the-art meeting and leisure facilities here at Lane End - The Cedar Club does just that.”
Work on the double storey sports and leisure centre began in 2014 and the soft launch was attended by local customers, supporters and students of Lane End’s sister
company the Euro Japanese Exchange Foundation earlier this year. The launch was in memory of the centre’s founder Dr. William Barry who passed away in January
2012.
The Cedar Club is the latest development in a series of refurbishment and ongoing development projects.
Heni Fourie added: “It was important for us to expand our leisure offer by improving the indoor options, giving our guests the best possible choice of both fitness and leisure
activities to choose from whilst on-site.”
Lane End Conference Centre is set in 26 acres and offers two tennis courts, a 9-hole footgolf course, beach volleyball, five a side football, outdoor fitness track, 1-mile
running track, three coffee lounges with snooker, outdoor terraces and three private bars in addition to the brand new Cedar Club.
Lane End Conference Centre, based in the stunning setting of Buckinghamshire, offers a unique modular design with five distinct and completely self-contained conference
buildings – each offering bedrooms, meeting facilities, bar, lounge and dining room – available for exclusive use.

Home News Venues & Events Lane End to host the construction industry’s UK teambuilding competition for a fourth time
Category: Venues & Events Created on Friday, 09 October 2015 16:10
The UK’s nationwide collaboration competition for the construction industry will be held at Lane End Conference Centre for the fourth year running following its
continued success at the Buckinghamshire venue.
Teambuild UK is construction’s top team building competition, with a focus on helping develop the leadership and team co-ordination skills of young
professionals in the construction industry. The event is a cross disciplinary contest which has been running for 25 years. This year it will take place on 20-22
November.
“Our competitors represent major companies from all disciplines within the construction industry, making it a great opportunity not only to gain new skills but to network with
peers and other organisations,” comments Richard Hart, Director of Administration at Teambuild. “Lane End provides us with the necessary space to enable our teams to
work comfortably over the course of the competition. The modern facilities and the knowledgeable staff are also important to us and that is why we will be returning for a
fourth year.”
The intensive nature of the event means Teambuild UK requires a specialist venue and Lane End will once again provide access to three self-contained buildings; Wycombe
Hall, Wycombe Court and The Pavilion. The size and variety of conference rooms in the Wycombe Hall and Wycombe Court buildings provide ample space for the teams to
work on individual projects. These two interconnected buildings also offer a private dining room and two comfortable lounges within close proximity to the conference rooms
where the participants can relax. On the final day the group gathers in The Pavilion, a large space with high ceilings and plenty of natural light.
“We are really excited to be hosting Teambuild UK for the fourth year,” comments Heni Fourie, Sales Marketing Manager at Lane End Conference Centre. “The event is
fast-paced, challenging, and fun; it's professional training at its best so we are thrilled to be part of it. Lane End frequently holds exciting events but Teambuild UK is
something we always look forward to as a venue.”
