WALKING + CYCLING

Key Design Features:

− The majority of pedestrian access and circulation occurs under awnings, directly connecting to shop fronts.

− The creation of the plaza space will enable alternative routes for movement, with opportunities for pedestrians to better utilise the paved areas for seating.

− People walking and cycling will be able to directly connect to May Gibbs Place via signalised crossing (subject to RMS approval).

VEHICULAR ACCESS

Key Design Features:

− Vehicle access will be maintained to existing driveways. This will be clearly delineated through the location of plaza furniture and pavement types.

− The plaza allows for a timed loading zone and controlled service vehicle access.

PLAZA ACTIVATION

Key Design Features:

− Activation of the shop fronts will be supported with the opportunity for retail to utilise the outdoor space for small displays.

− The increase in pavement will enable outdoor dining to occur under the shade of existing mature trees or small shade umbrellas.

− Cafes and restaurants will be encouraged to activate the space, creating a relaxed outdoor ambience conveniently located close to a major shopping precinct.
