Definition

As the think-quest-library shows, land pollution is the addition of undesirable matter to the land that damages the land’s organisms, reduces the uses of the land by human for agricultural, residential, recreational or other purposes or increases the risk of health to human.

Two main parts

Solid Wastemeans any kind of

rubbish, wastewater treatment plant, water supply treatment plant,

air pollution control facility and other

discarded materials.

Land pollution

Soil Pollutionbasically caused by chemicals which have lots of advantages for the human beings.

Solid Waste

In a few words, solid wastes are something we don’t want so we discard.

We cannot bury it. Many of the country's landfills have been closed because they were full or they were polluting groundwater.

We cannot burn it. Burn the solid waste does generate energy, but it may course a cost—“it may release toxins into the air and create ash that requires disposal in hazardous-waste landfills, and that takes us back to our starting point: Cities are running out of places to put their trash.”(U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2006)

There’s no one can help us to pay.(if we don’t help ourselves) As the government cope with the costs and problems of their own waste operation, they are less glad to deal with the waste and the pollution generates.

Soil pollution(cont.)

It is hard to control and seems to have more problems.

In addition, something pollutes the soil can get into the

human body directly by coming into contact with the skin

and breathing in polluted dust particles.

Furthermore, human may eat fruits and vegetables that

have been grown in polluted soil.

Methodologies & Findings

Text

According to my survey, I find many ways to control and even solving some of the unfortunate situations.

At first, we must stop ourselves going on wasting from now on. This also means we must reduce the waste as possible as we can.

Next, recycling is another important way. This means waste material should be turned into raw material.

Lastly, it must be an international cooperation although there are lots of difficulties to the international resolution to environmental issues because of the difference in individual nations view and policies toward environmental protection.

To sum up..

The world will not turn back from a “throw away” society unless people put in enough efforts to protect our land.
