PRESIDENT’S

MESSAGE

Ron Gamache

So what you think of the picture of me to the right? Well

it sure looks like me and I have to admit there is a lot of

gray there. Well at least I have something to turn gray.

Well there will be a different picture next month!!!!!!

As president I always feel like I should create

a “presidential” article, something like the

“state of the chapter”. Well I have all I can

do just to get this program to work. There is

nothing like learning a new computer

program of course if I would have submitted

my article on time this problem would not

have come up. So I wish to thank Irv for

stepping up and becoming the Newsletter

There are also other events and rides that

are going to be going on in the next few

months, please see the enclosed calendar

for all the dates and times. Just remember

when all else fails feel free to give me a

call. I would appreciate any input the

members have in regards to rides and

events. Just get me the who what where

and when so that I can present it to the

stepping up and becoming the Newsletter

Editor and next month my article will be in

on time. I should put his picture in this

thing, and believe me it will be there in the

next news letter.

So let’s have a contest to see who has the

“best” picture of Irv for next months news

letter. Just e-mail me or post it on the Lambs

that Roar face-book page. The winner gets

to see the picture he provided in the news

letter.

I hope that some of you all will be able to

visit us in Daytona for Bike Week. Once

again we will be at the Nova camp ground.

There is no cost to chapter members to stay

at the sight. So come on down and visit. We

have spare tents if you do not have one.

Come stay for a night or the whole week.

There will be great fellowship and plenty of

opportunities to minister.

and when so that I can present it to the

chapter. A good time to present this info is

at the officer meeting. That way the

officers can talk it over and fit it into the

calendar.

Now for a commercial break to bring up

Run For The Son coming up the first

Saturday in May which is the 4th. This is

our only fundraiser for the year. We are

going to have it a Yankees' farm again this

year. There will be overnight camping and

plenty of fellowship for those who want to

get there early or stay over. This year we

are going to have the food catered it will be

a good spread.

Well I finally filled up all the space and it’s

time to start to close. God Bless You All

and keep an eye out for those who do not

see you. Keep the shinny side up.

----THE PROMISE----

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will

come again and receive you to myself; that where I

am, there you may be also.” John 14:3----Jesus is

coming again. He promised. Nothing could be more

certain than the return of Christ because He gave

His promise that He would come again. That

promise was given to encourage the disciples

because of His coming crucifixion. They would be

separated from Him and reunited for a brief time

following the resurrection. These men had left all to

follow Him. They needed to know about His plans

for the future. But what does the return of Christ

mean to you and me? It means that all Christians

will be caught up to meet Him when He returns. It

means that all should prepare for His coming. Are

ROAD CAPTAIN’S CORNERHi all, this is Ron and I am writing the Road Captain’s Article for

this month. First off I wish to thank Andy for taking over as Road

Captain. Let’s give him our support as he takes on this position.

Being the Road Captain is a difficult office, as it has a lot or

responsibilities and stress. Leading a ride has a lot of pressure

as all eyes are on you. If you miss a turn everyone knows about

it. There is also the matter of safety, planning the rides, and all

sort of other stuff. I hope when Andy reads this that he doesn’t

get overwhelmed and quit. Please keep him in you prayers.

Now to get to the article this moth we are

going to talk about saddle bags. Those

are the things that are attached to the

side of your bike that one gets to put all

sort of “stuff” in. What I want to do is talk

about what to put in the bags. If you

have a sport bike and have no saddle

bags you probably have a nice back

pack that rides with you. OK, first off a

biker bible in a plastic baggie, some

March 2013 Page 5

biker bible in a plastic baggie, some

tracks, and a blessing sticker or two. If

you need a copy and a plastic bags and

or some tracks get a hole of me and I will

provide you with some.

Now for some other things you should

have in there. Some rain gear would be

nice along with gloves maybe some

extra clothing in case it gets colder. This

time of year you never know what to

expect. I could be warm and sunny

which means sun block or cold and or

rainy. Chaps are a good thin to have in

there if it gets cold you can always take

them off but you cant put on what you

don’t have. Be blessed and ride safe.

The Story Behind Easter

Easter is the most religious day of the year, to most christians. It's the day Jesus arose

from the dead. It's a festive holiday with spring colors, easter eggs, flowers, and bunnies.

How does Jesus's resurrection correlate with eggs and bunnies? How did his resurection

correspond with Easter? Easter has been celebrated, since at least, the fourth

century and an annual celebration of the resurrection. Even when some churches did'nt

accept some of the religous holidays, Easter has always been a Special Day for christians.

Before the fourth century, christians celebrated "Pascha or Pesach", adapted from the

Jews. Pesach was a celebration of the crucifixtion and resurrection of Jesus, this was

celebrated in spring. Many gentile christians did'nt want to accept Jewish traditions but

gradually, after the fourth century, Easter became an accepted holiday. Easter and

holidays related to it (passover)are movable feast. They do not fall on a cetain date.

The're based on the lunar calender, created by the Council of Nicaea, in A.D. 325. The

calculations of their dates are complicated but Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday

following the first full moon after the Spring Equinix (March 21st).

Easter can be from March 22nd to April 25th. In Western Christianity, Easter marks the

end of the forty days of Lent. During Lent, we fast and pray to prepare for Easter,

beginning Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter Sunday. Easter has not fallen on March

22nd since 1818 and won't until 2285!

Easter also has a non religous side. During

March 2013 Page 9

Easter also has a non religous side. During

the second century, Easter was originally a

pagan festival. The ancient saxons

celebrated this holiday for their goddess of

of Spring and Springtime, Eastre. When the

christians noticed many tribes were

worshipping Eastre, they attempted to

change their faith to christianity. The

christians slowly, but surely, spread their

faith but allowed the tribes to celebrate

pagan feasts, Eastre occured at the same

time as Christ's Resurrection. Over time,

Eastre was converted to a christian

celebration and named Easter.during Easter

we have many symbols. The cross is not

only a year round symbol, but an Easter

symbol also. It symbolizes the

crucifixion of Jesus.

Changing the world one heart at a timeWho Is Your Guide?By: John Ogden, Sr.

Thy Word have I hidden in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)

The answers to the issues of life are found in God’s Word. It is as relevant today as it was when it was first written. Living a Christian life requires that we give up our rights and become slaves to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Having the opportunity to pray and talk with many people, I am always amazed that we seemingly are our worst enemies. We get ourselves in all kinds of difficult situations and then look to God for help. While it is always good to take our needs to the Lord, we should also be allowing Him to direct our lives.

Verse 11 gives us instructions on dealing with sin. It says that we are to hide God’s Word in our heart that we may not sin against Him. Romans 12:1, 2 states, we are to renew our minds by the reading of the Word. God’s Word is meant to be hidden in our hearts and to be the compass of our lives that we may know the good and acceptable will of God.

Verse 105 states that the Word is to be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Many times in my own life, when things become difficult, I realize that I have allowed myself to drift from the place that God has called me to be. I am always thankful that Jesus stands willing, with arms outstretched to receive me, as well as you. But, a better place to be is to have God’s Word planted and watered (through reading it) in our hearts, so that our paths

better place to be is to have God’s Word planted and watered (through reading it) in our hearts, so that our paths may be straight. There is no foundation beyond God’s Word. We need the Word of God to overcome the world. Are you continually hiding His Word in your heart that you may know His will? Are you being led by the Word? Is your path being illuminated by God’s Word? May we be challenged to read and meditate on God’s Word for the directions of life!
