JOYS: Tom Jones expressed the joy in his heart as he and Diane celebrate their 40th wedding anniver-sary. Merle Hughes shared her love for the support and strength she has received from the congregation over the last year since Avery's passing. She and her children and grandchildren scattered his ashes in their yard and along the fence line where he would feed the deer. She thanks the congregation for welcoming the Wharton UMC youth group that will be staying here this week. She also thanks the congregation for the prayers offered for Ethan Avery Hughes, suffering with leukemia. He is cur-

rently taking his last hard chemo treatment and will transition to a lighter chemo therapy and is doing well. Prayers for his health are still requested. Tom Wolf is full of joy that their daughter, Vickie, is in remission after one year of chemo therapy. Laura Hahn-Conti, daughter of Diane & Tom Jones, joyfully announced that she will have a baby boy in Decem-ber! She does ask for our prayers in dealing with a boy, as she has two little girls! She also reports that her friend's daughter who was hospitalized with sepsis is now home and improving, and thanks us for the prayers--but please keep them coming. Frank Macalik is thankful for all the help and support he and Tolli have been receiving. Janet Flies is joyful that her son and girlfriend out in LA were safe after all the earthquakes out in CA. She will be traveling to see him. Valerie Steele was happy to see Connie Wolf in church. Connie has had a hard time getting about and we are hap-py to see her! Joanna Fritz is joyful that her son, John Paul, started work last Monday. She asks for prayer for his as he takes his bar exam on June 30th. Billy Yarbrough is happy that his daughters will be going to summer camp but will really miss the! Lakeside UMC was so happy to welcome Pastor Tolli and her husband Frank to our church!

CONCERNS Travel Mercies Requested for: Tom & Connie Wolf on their trip to IL, Kay & Bob Cornish on their trip to AR, Ginger and Ron Moody on their trip to CO, Janet Flies as she travels to LA to be with her son, Billy Yar-brough's aunt as she travels to WV for a month, Lynda Mitchel's daughter and granddaughter as they travel to Indianapolis. Carolyn Draper asks for an attitude change as she deals with numerous health problems. She has to use a cane and she does not feel OLD. It is hard to emotionally accept the changes one must make when dealing with health issues. Please pray for her. Bill Groce will be receiving a pacemaker on Wednesday, keep him in your prayers. Jen Burroughs is joyful that her heart monitor was removed and she is improving, but requests our continued pray-ers for her heart improvement. Pat Metcalf asks for continuing prayers for his wife, Betsy. Her back problems cause a lot of pain and she has to wait until August 1st for surgery. Tex Schutz was taken to the emergency room for a bleeding situation (nose & mouth). They were able to reduce but not totally stop bleeding. He was released with arrangement to see ENT specialist. Prayers for solution to this prob-lem and quick recovery will be appreciated. Sad news—Phil Sanders passed away on July 2, 2019. Phil & Barbara Sanders were in the original group of 15

that started Lakeside UMC. There will be a Memorial service in Houston, TX on July 27, 2019.
