Would you like to undertake a small project or hold a small local event? get members of your community or neighbourhood together to celebrate something, share skills and stories, start a social group, organise a local excursion, teach others something special that you can do that you think will benefit them? If so, Wyndham City Council may be able to support you and/or your group with grant funding to make your idea happen.

With up to $500 available for individuals and up to $1,000 for Incorporated not-for-profit groups through Wyndham City’s Neighbourhood Grants you could do something really special for your community, particularly if your project will achieve one or more of the following outcomes: The project achieves an aspiration of local community members The project improves a shared use space People feel that they have a sense of belonging People have increased networks and feel supported by family, friends and neighbours.

Social media & digital marketing training for small business If you’re running a small business with less than 20 employees, you’re eligible for the Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) Digital Solutions program. The program offers low-cost, high quality digital advisory services to small businesses and is available in Wyndham.

For a single payment of $55 you can attend up to 8 workshops about social media and digital marketing plus access two hours of one-on-one mentoring. The evening sessions will be held at the

Wyndham Civic Centre in May (social media) and October (digital marketing).

This Girl Can – Physical Activity for Women We are pleased to announce Wyndham City Council will be supporting VicHealth’s This Girl Can initiative! This Girl Can is dedicated to encouraging more women to give physical activity a shot, or return to an activity after a break. There will be some great low-cost or free activities right around Wyndham and across Victoria, all designed to inspire women to get active. Whether that’s to try something new, return to a long-lost activity or visit your local activity provider for a friendly catch-up. There’ll be a range of fun and inclusive activities at local gyms, community groups and sports clubs including Zumba, Thai Chi, Pilates, Yoga, Lawn Bowls, Walking Groups and much more throughout May. TALENT SHOW - WHO’S GOT TALENT!On 30 March a talent show was held at the Manor Lakes Community Learning Centre to encourage members in the community to come and showcase their talent. The idea of creating this event was to get people from all cultures to come together and enjoy the diverse cultures and talents. The event was well attended, which included participants from ages 4 – 60 years. There were 100 members who participated in this Talent Show which included 44 performances which comprised of solo dancing, singing, playing instrument, poetry, mimicry, stand-up comedy and others. The performances were very multicultural as there was a diverse display of talents. The winning participants received trophies to acknowledge their talent.

ACTION FROM - LAST SCHOOL HOLIDAYSWe had some amazing school holiday activities for the kids which gave them an opportunity to do something fun in the school holidays. We had a few creative workshops for kids which included the Playdough with mum, Finger painting and Terrarium workshops. All the workshops were fully booked out and the kids not only had fun but also learnt new skills. More amazing school holiday activities coming up in the next school holidays.
