Thereʼs never a dull moment on the lake.  For many, the day begins at sunrise carrying your fishing pole, tackle box and shiners down to the boat.  The sun begins to peek over the treetops and the morning birds and waterfowl are busy with their wake up calls.  There is not a ripple on the lake other than the occasional gulp of a bass disturbing the perfect mirror glass of

the morning reflections of the tree line of Scrub State Park.  While some of the best fishing spots are among the natural weed beds, the best fishing is in “the trough” which meanders in front of the State Park.  The bass hang off the ledges of “the trough”.  All you need is a local to show you the location one time and your fishfinder will guide you to your morning catch.

If you are not fishing with Dad, you might find yourself on your SeaDoo searching out your favorite restaurant on the Lakes.  Lake

you might find yourself on your SeaDoo searching out your favorite restaurant on the Lakes.  Lake Juneʼs canal system connects to nearby Lake Carrie and Lake Henry.  Lake Henry features waterfront Jaxons Restaurant which provides mooring lines on the shoreline for boaters to secure their craft while dining.  Jaxons offers lunch and dinner with reasonable prices, great seafood, steaks and daily specials. Dine inside where it is cool and enjoy the knotty pine woodwork with artwork to include antique waterskies on the walls. Enjoy patio dining overlooking the lake and water activities. The restaurant offers a full service bar.

With a full belly, hop back on your SeaDoo to head back to Lake June West to find Dad back from fishing and the kids ready for beach volleyball, wakeboarding, tubing, waterskiing or even a Skyski ride.  If you need a lesson or two, we can arrange wakeboard, waterski and Skyski lessons through our favorite local marina, Lake Placid Marine.

After a day of fun on the water, you may be tired but the day is not over for Dad.  There is nothing better than a BBQ on the beach in

your lawn chairs watching the diehard wakeboarders trying to get their last run in before the sun dips down into the treetops.

So when the kids have called it a day, it is time for Mom and Dad to have some fun with their neighbors at Lake June West.  Whether it is a moonlit boat ride or a bonfire on the beach, you are sure to share stories about the fun times on the lake that day.

Aaahhh…another day on the Lake!

Can’t wait to wake up and do it all over again

Your perfect get-away to escape the “rat race” of our neighboring coastal communities.  Leave the traffic, noise and congestion behind you whether it is just your family or a weekend with friends.  Youʼll enjoy the change of pace and relaxation of a lakeside BBQ or an exhilarating ski run on the Accufloat slalom course out your back door.  Youʼll be amazed with the communityʼs holiday celebrations to include Christmas Parades, 4th of July fireworks right on the Lake, arts and crafts shows, antique car shows and of course, the Caladium Festival. Youʼll love the lifestyle found at Lake June West.

We all remember some of the oohs and aaahs at fireworks displays in years past but you will remember a Lake June West 4th of July celebration for a lifetime. It is a day of family and friends on the sandy beach, watersports al l day long to include wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, and swimming.  The afternoon finale is the intrigue and flavor of your Lake June Westʼs neighborʼs invitation to partake in his special BBQ recipes. The residents are fortunate to have Whitney Petersen as a Lake June West neighbor.  Lucky for us, Whitneyʼs hobby is professional BBQ competitions where he travels all over the state to compete with some of the best.  While Whitneyʼs favorite

response might be “itʼs a secret”, heʼll be quick to invite you to enjoy some of his prizewinning ribs and beef briskets from his competition smoker.

With the sun falling low, the kids get eager for the pre-fireworks festivities to include apple pie on the beach in one hand and a sparkler glowing in the other. The 4th of July fireworks display on Lake June is hosted by various sponsors to include the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Lake Placid, local businesses and non-profit organizations. The experience is less than typical as there has been great preparation to pack the snacks, coolers, life jackets, and cameras into the

family boat.  As you meander along the shoreline towards Bishop Park, the site of the fireworks launching, you will see fun at its best with each lake home competing with the other for the best fireworks display. As dusk nears, all you see are the bow and stern lights of hundreds of boats eagerly headed to the waters in front of Bishop Park.  The fireworks display typically kicks off at 9:00 p.m. and then the screaming begins with the oohhs and aaahhhs with bombs bursting in air! Truly this display is a sight to see and equals some of the best that I have seen in larger cities or even at Disney.

Now, if you are a seasoned captain, you have marked your dock with a unique colored light

different from the other 400 dock lights that dot the shoreline.  So now picture the hundreds of boats with their bow and stern lights aglow headed in the opposite direction all at the same time looking for their special dock.  Once home at Lake June West, the fun has just begun because the family competition begins.  As you nod off to sleep, you frequently hear the snap, crackle, pop of the diehard fireworks enthusiasts who just canʼt stop till the fireworks run out.
