Term 4 - Week 1 Week B
Welcome back to term 4, hoping that everyone had an enjoyable and safe holiday break. This is traditionally a very busy term, beginning with the HSC exams starting very soon, yearly exams, work placements, presentation evening not to mention the various excursions and sporting events. It is very important that all students begin the term focused on being fully engaged during lessons, to give themselves the best opportunity to learn and do well in assessments. As has been shown on the schools face book page, the major works are well underway and should be finished sometime next week, hopefully.

As part of the Year 12 challenges, Matty had his hair shaved. The challenges raised over $500 towards the Oliver Townsend Memorial fund. Other challenges the Year 12’s had to do were to eat chilli and lemon, visit the hospital in the dress ups, flash dance in the playground etc.
Kinder Gym and Story Time Thank you to everyone that attended our Kindy Gym and Story Time program last term. It was great to see so many children and their parents enjoying themselves. We look forward to seeing many of the children when our formal transition program begins in Week 3.
Service Expo There is a service expo at the Lower Lachlan centre next week on Thursday the 19th. All Year 9 and 10 students will be attending this expo during periods 3 and 4. There is a variety of services on display for students to attend including the My Gov bus which should be able to assist with applying for a Tax File Number. L3 Response to Text Stimulus We are seeking donations of small objects and books that we could use in classrooms to support responses to texts. Some examples could be toys, dress ups, books, posters, objects, etc. Some of the categories are: transport, jungles, beach, animals, family, sports and music. A full list of the categories can be found at the front office and outside Mrs O'Connor's room. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and can be given to Mrs O'Connor.

P & C
The P&C would like to thank everyone who supported our Movie Night at the end of Term 3. Thank you to the parents who helped organise the night (particularly Mrs Bramich), the Year 6 students who provided very professional service at the front door and in the canteen, the dedicated teachers who gave up their night to help supervise the children and set up and clean up the hall and a big thank you to the parents and the children who came along to support the event. The night was a success, raising over $400. We are looking forward to our upcoming Bingo Night. P&C Bingo Night Friday 17th November 2017 Life is busy! Everyone is juggling many things and it can be hard to fit in 'another' meeting. If you are looking for ways to help assist and support the P&C that isn't time consuming, this could be for you. We are currently seeking donations from parents and local businesses for our upcoming Bingo Night. We are very grateful for any donations and they will be used for prizes, or to buy prizes for the Bingo Night. Contact Lorinda O'Neill on 0400 190 484 for more information. More information about the Bingo Night to come in the next few weeks. P&C Meeting Tuesday week 2, 17th October, 6pm in the library. Bookclub

Year 1 have been using problem solving skills
to become mathematicians. We have been
discussing and experimenting with using the
most efficient way to count large numbers and
creating arrays and patterns to help us
subertise. We have also explored various
patterns by designing seating arrangements for
a restaurant.
