    PROJECT

TPA was appointed by INRG to support a planning application for a 5MW solar

farm at Thruxton near Andover, Hampshire.

APPROACH A planning application was submitted in 2014. To support the planning

application, TPA produced a Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP).

This set out information on the forecast construction vehicle trip generation,

and provided a strategy to minimise the effect of construction traffic on the

    local highway network.

As part of the CTMP, TPA prepared access drawings and swept path analysis to

demonstrate that safe access could be achieved, and engaged with the local

highway authority to agree an appropriate access route for the construction

    period.

In addition, TPA liaised with Highways England to resolve issues surrounding

glint and glare, with could affect drivers on the A303.

OUTCOME The solar farm was granted planning permission in July 2015. The solar farm

has since been constructed and is now operational.
