A device is any instructor’s simulator control device. This can be a laptop PC or a SimPad. Every simulator has its own control device.

Devices must be registered, or associated, with an organization’s account prior to using them with SimStore.

From the SimStore account, instructors can allocate or assign scenarios, and other content to particular devices that will be utilized to control simulators for the planned scenarios. Allocation is performed from the instructor’s SimStore account, on any Internet-ready PC.

Offline Communication: The Instructor PC is NOT capable of being connected to an Internet network. Therefore, content must be moved from any Internet-capable PC to a USB storage drive, which is then utilized to move the content (scenarios) to the simulator’s Instructor PC.

Your login credentials consist of:

• Institution Name • User Name • Password

Please contact Customer Service or your salesman for SimStore login credentials. If your organization already has an account, the account administrator can add users.

User Purchaser Super User The User role is designed for individuals who will search SimStore content, create wish lists of the content they desire, and then coordinate with the Purchaser to purchase licenses. Users can:

· Browse SimStore and add products to a cart.

· Create and send wish lists to Purchasers.

· View support materials for purchased scenarios.

· Access practice licenses for purchased scenarios.

· Refer products to colleagues. · Rate and review purchased

products.

The Purchaser role is intended to allow control over the ordering process within your organization. A Purchaser can perform all the same functions as a User with the addition of the following rights:

· Make purchases on account or by credit card.

· Request a quote for purchase. · View and manage order history.

The Super User role is designated for individuals who will manage your organization’s SimStore account. A Super User can perform all the functions of a User and Purchaser, with the addition of the following:

· Create new users. · Manage user access. · Register devices. · Allocate content to registered

devices.

Choosing Online vs. Offline Methods

Utilize the following questions to help you determine if you should utilize Online vs. Offline device and content management.

Registering the Instructor Device

Each installation of an Instructor Application (or LLEAP) has a unique Device Key. This key needs to be registered to SimStore to allow purchased content to be utilized on a specific simulator Instructor PC.

Online Device Registration

1 Connect the Instructor Device to the Internet network.

2 Open the simulator’s Instructor Application (or LLEAP).

3 From the SimStore menu, select Register Device at SimStore.

4 An Internet window will open with the device key filled in. Complete the Location and the Device Name.

5 Save the device_key.txt file onto the USB device. Do NOT change the file name.

6 On any Internet-capable PC, insert the USB storage device, and then login to SimStore.

Free Trial or Purchase SimStore Content

Purchasing occurs from your SimStore account on any Internet-ready PC, and has 3 phases.

Each account (NOT user) is entitled to free trial each piece of content on the SimStore THREE times for 72 hours. The free trial begins from checkout, and ends 72 hours later. Purchase, allocation, and scenario exploration should occur during those 72 hours to get the most out of the free trial. Ideally, this should occur with all the stakeholders involved.

The process for getting purchased scenarios from SimStore to your device includes two steps – allocation and synchronization. Allocation refers to the pairing of purchased content licenses with any of your organization’s registered devices. Allocation can occur from any Internet-ready PC. It does NOT require the simulator’s Instructor Device unless you wish to utilize that.

Once the scenario is allocated, you may move on to synchronizing.

Allocating Content (Scenarios) to a Device

2 To access the purchased content, select the link at the bottom of the order receipt, or locate the Account tab and select Content.

1 After purchase or agreement of free trail, the selected content will appear in your library and is ready for allocation and then synchronization.

3 Content can be allocated by scenario set or individual scenario.

Use the advanced filter option to sort by simulator or device type.

5 Assign available scenario or scenario set licenses as required. Select for each change.

The process for getting scenarios purchased from SimStore to the Instructor PC includes two steps – allocation and synchronization. Now that allocation is complete, synchronization can occur either online or offline.

2 Open the simulator’s Instructor Application.

3 From the SimStore menu, select Synchronize with SimStore.
