Purpose Statement
Lacombe Pentecostal Church
"LPC purposes to see people become devoted believers in Jesus Christ."
Who having received through Christ, forgiveness and eternal life and are be-coming restored, healed, equipped and serving anointed worshippers of the Living God.
LPC is a place to belong to His family. LPC is place to become all that God has purposed for your life, actively serving in the Kingdom of God for the Glory of Christ Jesus.
We are prayerfully and intentionally seeking to raise a generation of believ-ers, who are not afraid or skeptical of the supernatural workings of the Holy Spirit and are visible, verbal, and unapologetic of the glorious hope that is within them; who are living by God's faith, and are authentic representatives of Jesus Christ.
Does it give you a sense of direction, or empowerment for you to express your spiritual and natural gifts toward the purpose?
What things, events, or ministries might you identify that has helped to ful-fill the purpose statement?
If we choose to, what two or three things could we all do to accelerate the above statement and subsequent paragraphs so that more people in City of Lacombe would become believers in Jesus Christ?

Thank you LPC families for making this year’s Op-eration Christmas Child such a huge success! We re-ceived a total of 136 shoeboxes this year. Filling a shoebox not only puts a smile on a precious child’s face; there will be 136 children who will have now heard the story of Jesus. They will have the opportu-nity to invite Jesus into their hearts as well. That’s the best gift of all. ♥ Don’t forget, you can pack a shoebox anytime all year round. Just go to Samaritanspurse.ca and click on Operation Christmas Child. Thanks again for sharing the love of Jesus and shar-ing your love and kindness to children all over the World.
♥The Power Of A Simple Gift♥ Sincerely, Bruce and Sandy Patterson

Library LIBRARY HOURS
Sundays : 9:30-10:00am &
11:30pm-12:00pm
Tuesdays: 9:30-1100am
“Alleluia: for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth”
“Glory to the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men”
The story of Bethlehem is an exhaustless theme. In it is hidden “the depth of the riches both of the wisdom & knowl-
edge of God” - Romans 11:33
We are now to the end of 2016! Praise and glory to God for this humble “pie” room! Trials, laughter, frustra-
tion, patience, a growing-type of year finally comes to a close! Got a different desk from the “book sale” share (rest
went to YC). Hired Alfred to make seven CD/DVD towers (from oak) to free some shelves for more books. Gor-
geous work - thank you Alfred. Been hunting for reasonable pricing for books requested but budget has ran out!
Sorry!
Met many new faces and new customers to our library! Thanks to those with donations that give different read-
ing for everyone’s enjoyment.
A year full of new relationships and sadly, “goodbyes” to some of our patrons! We have been developing, learn-
ing of God’s love and how to listen to His voice! I’ve learned to rest in God for my health as well - not always suc-
cessfully!
I’m truly thankful for the rainbow of smiles, bear hugs and sound advice to better my/our service to you!
Grateful for those sermons of great advice to better my mind, heart, body and soul. Prayers are always the tops no
matter whom the warrior is. Thankful for Betty Curtis-Munroe who fills in to help when I’m not available and for
Isabel, who takes over the computer work. Let’s not forget our Bubbly-Bobbi who loves “organization” and can be so
funny to work with. We are part of each other - dedicated to serve your needs thru the library! Joyeux Noel to each
of you - you are “angels”.
Christmas entertainment and reading is on the shelves now but only till the last Sunday of January when ALL
returns should be back. The draw for November Winner is the Barritt Family. Congrats! The children seemed more
responsible in returning than the parents! Maybe we will do this again.
CLOSED DAYS: Christmas Day and New Year’s Day (this Great-Grandma intends to be in Warburg with my family -
stuffing my face with kisses from babies and goodies).
Also closed Tuesdays when the Women’s Bible Study is on a break unless I need to do “Catchup 101”!

Slow Dance (A Poem Submitted by Catherine Lindholm)
Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
with the next hundred chores running through your
head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, 'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last..
When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
This poem was written by a teenage girl who is terminally ill with cancer in a New York Hospital. She
wants to see how many get her poem. Please pass it on. It was sent by a medical doctor.

Dear Friends and Family,
I would like to take this time to tell you all about an amazing opportunity in my life. This
new year at Vanguard College is exciting and challenging for me, as I learn more about my life in
Christ and how to put my faith into action.
This year I have an amazing opportunity. I AM GOING TO SOUTHEAST ASIA! I am be-
yond excited to go on this journey and to see what God has in store for me on this trip. I will be
exposed to many different cultures and I will be pushed out of my comfort zone as I am able to see
another part of the world that may seem different for me.
We will be running VBS and English camps and work in local churches. We will work and
teach in Christian schools and build relationships with all of the children that we have the opportu-
nity to work with. In Cambodia we are working with Ian and Tiffany Rowley and the coffee house there. We are also
running VBS and doing Child Care Plus and just being the hands and feet of Jesus and being the love of Christ to these
children. In the Philippines we are going to be working with a global worker and her name is Linda and the Noah's Ark's
Ministry. We have the opportunity to work with this amazing ministry and with Linda. We also have the amazing op-
portunity to serve with the local church and school. We have the opportunity to establish strong relationships with the
people that we have the privilege to interact with.
I am excited to being able to serve the people in Southeast Asia, and just being a light to the world. I want to be a
lighthouse that saves people from the rocky shore and sends them into safety of the harbor. To be a guide to lead people
to Jesus and into the safety and love that he brings. I hope to make a difference in someone’s life through this adventure,
but I think that I might be the one who does the most changing. I am also very excited to see how God is going to work
both in me and through me to reach other people.
I am writing this letter to keep you in touch with what is going on in my life, and also to ask you for help. I need
to raise funds for my trip expenses, and I was wondering if you would consider making a donation to help me reach my
goal, which is $3750. I am asking if you will consider supporting me both through finances and prayer. All donations are
eligible for an income tax receipt. Please make all cheques payable to Vanguard College, and do NOT put my name on
the check anywhere. All donations have to be in February the 6th. Thank you so much for letting me tell you about this
great adventure that I will be going on. Please don’t hesitate to phone me at (403) 598-5149 or send me an e-mail at
[email protected], if you would like to talk to me personally about the trip.
Sincerely,
Sarah Miller
