    The Provincial Assembly KPK has unanimously passed a resolution ackn

    edging the work being done by KfW and PPAF under the LACIP in KPK during its

    sion held on April 21st, 2014. This is first time in the history of the KPK assembly that

    work of an organization has been discussed in an assembly session to widen its sc

    The members of the Provincial Assembly KPK expressed their satisfaction on the developm

    works initiated through the LACIP and gave their vote of confidence in the Project after seeing

    positive impact it has created in KPK through interventions of various components. The m

    bers also requested that the scope of the project be increased to other marginalized areas

    more Districts under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well to benefit a larger population.

    LACIP arranged an exposure trip for 9 community organization (CO) m

    bers from District Swabi at the Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunk

    on January 08, 2014. The purpose of the trip was to provide grass root

    members with introduction to legislation and to gain experience regarding the d

    sion making process at the government level which would in turn assist them to c

    duct and carry out the activities of the District Development Forum (DDF) efficie

    The CO members met with their local MPAs and other Ministers of the Provincia

    sembly who answered their questions regarding the Governments working me

    nism and the provision of a platform such as (DDF) which would have a sustain

    impact for COs. The local MPAs and Ministers applauded PPAF on this initiative andpressed their support and encouragement for future exposure visits which would

    efit more CO members. LACIP will be conducting more frequent exposure visits of

    members in the future whenever the Provincial Assembly sessions take place.

    On January 01, 2014, a meeting was organized by LACIP PMU at PPAF office with personnel of Pak

    saster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, RAHA UNHCR, RAHA UNDP, NRS

    shera and Planning & Development (P&D) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting focused on common d

    ment activities (Sector/District) wise, measures to avoid duplication of resources in District Nowshera

    District Development Forum (DDF), developing consensus regarding operational procedures. devis-

    ing mechanisms for infrastructure activities, synchronizing ToTs and community trainings with PDMA

    The story of Safeeh Ur Rehman

    s one of struggle and a lot of

    heart.

    Hailing from the poor District of Nowshera in Khyber

    akhtunkhwa, Safeeh was adored in his village not

    because he wore crutches, but because he drove aMotor Cycle Rickshaw (Chingchi) and always took his

    passengers to their destinations with a huge smile.

    members to undertake the specialized skills training at Applied

    echnologies Institute at Dina. He had a plan in place long before

    eaching Dina and enlisted in the Auto Electrician course immedi-

    tely. His drive was to learn the trade, excel at class, and graduate

    with certification.
