CHARACTERS
The character on this CD cover is a man and his
younger self, they are up in the clouds and very
lonely, we know this because he is up in the clouds
and there is no one else and nothing else on the CD.
One of the CDs is the young boy who looks a lot like
Drake so we can tell already that it is his CD. He has
no visible clothing on just a gold chain which tells us
that he is a stereotype of the rap genre.
NARRATIVE EVENTS
The narrative is showing a man and a young man who are
not happy, this is shown through the empty sky and the
loneliness of the two on the CD pack, and the text is in the
colour black and white which may connote sadness in some
form. Drake is in the sky with clouds around him, this may
say that he is in heaven and is happy or is in the sky alone
and is very lonely. However on the images he has no facial
expression so it is difficult to know how he is feeling.
ICONOGRAPHY
The sky on the CD cover shows the loneliness of
the star and it makes us confused about the general
feeling of the CD, happiness or sadness. There is no
props on the CD cover it is very simple which again
tells us they are lonely.
SETTING
The mise en scene is very simple there is not a lot going on in
the frame. There is just sky and clouds and the two side faces
of the man and his younger self. This makes the viewer think
that the album is going to be simple and there isn’t going to be
much on there. There is high key lighting on there which again
shows simplicity. On both people there is no visible clothing,
the older Drake is just wearing a chain which shows the
stereotype of rap, that explains the general genre of the album.
TECHNICAL AND AUDIO CODES
The whole CD is high key lighting which shows the
happiness and sadness and also the lack of colour
shows the simplicity, the blue connotes water and
the sky which shows the natural things about the
album, this is the opposite to what it actually is.
Most of the images are medium shots and long shots
which let the viewer see the whole picture of what is
going on.
