Andrew’s Manager’s Message This will be the last newsletter of the year and of our financial year. We have gone from a cold wet start to a late spring, into a long spell of good weather for harvest and early autumn back to being wet again. However, things could no doubt have been worse and at least we enter the winter in better heart than last year. LMR members have been there throughout, snow clearing, ploughing drilling, spraying, cutting hedges and now gritting the roads again. Concrete has gone down and buildings have gone up - another busy year. LMR will yet again beat its’ budget for the year with strong showings from fuel and work. The fertiliser market has been slow this year with prices falling until a few weeks ago. Please remember to contact LMR for a very competitive quote for your spring applications. We can supply a very wide range of traditional and alternative products from our trusted suppliers. There are many members also offering spreading services for fertilisers, manures and composts. Over time the services demanded by members gradually change. If you offer different services or are likely to need new machines or skills, do let us know. Similarly please talk to us if there are services that you think LMR should offer in the future, or that we should change the way we do things. Andrew Winter Fuel Supplies The availability and delivery schedules usually come under pressure across the Christmas/New Year period and when the road conditions deteriorate. Invariably, fuel prices rise too! Please plan ahead and check your tanks so that you get a timely delivery at an acceptable price. Of course, LMR will always do its’ best to get you a delivery and will be open for business as usual. LMR has members supplying logs for your fire as well as log splitters and wood processors. Commercial Premises Required An LMR member requires a building to store spare parts, approximately 10m wide, 22 m long and a door clearance of 4m. The preferred location would be on the A1 corridor between Stamford & Newark.

Manager’s observation When reviewing members trading relationship with LMR, I often identify that members aren’t using us for the supply of workshop gases. It is extremely unusual for their incumbent supplier to come anywhere near us on price. The rentals, gas price and delivery charges really do take some beating. Please call for a review. LMR has also got an extremely knowledgeable supplier of quality filters that I am sure will bring you significant savings too. Renewables LMR has firms advising on and supplying equipment across the renewables spectrum. Members can supply solar pv, wind and biofuel solutions for the projects you may be considering. By using LMR you will in most cases qualify for discounts, so please give us a call.    Helping to Prevent Theft We have companies that can provide wireless perimeter security that makes it very difficult for would-be thieves to get near your vehicles and property, and calls you via GSM to alert you to their presence before the damage is done. Jayne’s Manager’s Message I would like to wish all of our LMR members a very Happy New Year and that 2014 will be kind to everyone. Early surveys are predicting a 22% increase for our wheat harvest this year and winter barley is likely to see an increase of 55% compared to last year. Fingers crossed the weather will be fine! Hopefully you all survived 2013 and our thoughts are still very much with our members that were affected by the floods in early December. We sincerely hope things are improving for you all. As always, LMR is busy with the daily requests by our members which as you know are very varied. We always endeavour to find a solution to your needs. Our Buying Group side, where discounts and competitive rates are available to our members is also extremely popular. Fuel is one of the biggest requests, and don’t forget we also supply Adblue. Within the LMR Handbook you will find a list of some of the products we have competitive deals on. If you need a particular item or service and it’s not on the list, do please contact us, as chances are we will have a suitable supplier for you. Recently we have also been putting Contractors on standby for Snow Clearance. It may have already snowed since going to print. Yet, whether it has or not, if you are interested in Snow Clearance and you have the equipment along with the correct Insurances do please let us know as we might need you. Some of our work requests are also received from companies outside of the ring such as Local Authorities for example, whereby quotes are obtained from our LMR members and all work is undertaken through LMR Services Ltd. There has been a higher increase in Building Work Projects in the last few months. So if you are considering having that old shed re built, need a concrete floor, a replacement roof or need a new house built we have experienced contractors available. Competitive prices are also available on Aggregates & Concrete. Another area that we have seen a big increase in just lately is the purchasing of Fuel Tanks. We have specialist companies supplying all manner of tanks at very competitive prices. Talking about prices and the recent hike on Electricity and Gas charges we have companies that are successful on sourcing better deals for our members. Our most recent result came in just last week and our member has made a saving of just over £1000 in one year.

All you need to do is just contact us and we will give you the contact details. They will then ask you for a copy of your bills and they do the rest. Simple..... No - sorry you don’t get a Meer cat! Drain jetting has obviously been a big requirement just recently along with additional Drainage systems being requested. So if you have a drain blocked or need a new system or maybe just drainage pipes we can cover it all. In fact we cover most things, so please contact us when you have any requirements.
