The Historic Marietta Square and Glover Park is the site of the 29th annual Art in the Park Festival held each year on Labor Day weekend. This fine art extravaganza features an Artist Market, Children’s Art Alley, famous Painted Pots and the Chalk Spot. Art in the Park has been repeatedly honored as a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event and was selected as a Top 20 USA Event by USA Events. The festival has also earned awards from both the Southeast Festivals and Events Association and the International Festivals and Events Association.

Art displayed during the festival will include painting, photography, pottery, graphic arts, sculptures, jewelry and woodworking from 175 of the country’s finest artists. A fan favorite, the Marietta CityScape project, a 3D city created by festival guests, will also be back again this year. This project, along with many other free make-and-take projects is located in the Children’s Art Alley and presented by Mount Paran North and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Chalk Spot features 3 ft square chalk displays created by young artists and will be on display all weekend long, with proceeds benefiting the Marietta High School Visual Art Club. Festival guests will also have the opportunity to visit the unique shops and boutiques, restaurants, museums and galleries, take in a historic walking tour plus much more all within walking distance to the festival.
