TITLE : THREE PHASE DISTRIBUTION BOARD
OUTCOMES :
Demonstrate a three phase distribution board installation which follow the MS IEC 60634 and
electricity regulation 1994.
Demonstrate the specification a three phase small switch board which follow the MS IEC
60634 and electricity regulation 1994.
Conduct maintenance and fault detection of the distribution board.

PROCEDURES :
i. Firstly, draw a single line diagram to understand how to install hardware into a distribution
board.
ii. After complete a single line diagram, before install hardware into distribution board, must
know the condition device before install in the distribution board and which follow a single
line diagram.
iii. Check cables connection after install hardware.
iv. After check cables connection, check installation device with using continuity test.
v. Get a result after using continuity test.

DISCUSSION
A. Explain the meaning of data labelled at the protection device casing in the distribution
board.
a) MCCB
-The standard range of Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) are designed for
circuit protection of low voltage distribution system. They are suitable for application
as main breakers and for protection of branch and feeder circuit & connected
equipments / load. These MCCBs provide overload and short circuit protection for all circuit
elements. They are designed for use in Switchboards, Control Panels, Combination Starters,
in separate enclosures and meet the requirements of lighting, distribution and power circuits.
b) RCCB
-The Fault current overloads and short circuits can be detected by circuit breakers like MCBs
,MCCBs & HRC Fuses etc. But, Circuit breakers dont detect leakage currents, which are
dangerous for humans and livestock and if not detected can lead to fire hazards.
c) MCB
-It automatically switches off the electrical circuit during abnormal condition of the network
means in over load condition as well as faulty condition. The fuse does not sense
but Miniature Circuit Breaker does it in more reliable way. MCB is much more sensitive to
over current than fuse.
B. State THREE MS IEC 60364 or electricity regulation 1994 which
related to the three phase distribution.- Supply voltage single phase 230V AC nominal, range +10%, -6%;- Supply voltage 400V AC nominal three-phase, the range of +10%, -6%;
- The permitted frequency is 50Hz 1% and

CONCLUSION
- In this lab for Three Phase Distribution Board we able to demonstrate a
three phase distribution board installation which follow the MS IEC 60364
and electricity regulation 1994.After that,we also know how to determinethe specification on three phase small switch board which follow the MS
IEC 60364 and electricity regulation 1994.Lastly,know to conduct
maintenance and fault detection of the distribution board.
