• A native of the Dominican Republic Oscar de la Renta began studying design at the age of 18 in Spain.

• In 1963 he came to the U.S. and began working for Elizabeth Arden and 2 years later began his own design firm.

• He has two designs Ready-to-Wear and the Pink lable

• de la Renta produces eyewear, jewelry, lingerie, scarves, sleepwear, perfumes, sports coats, and jeans for both men and women.

• He has been awarded numerous fashion awards and awards for his distinguised citizenships for his charity works throughout the Dominican Republic.

• Included in his charitable works are providing day care centers, work with arts and is on the board of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

• His designs can be purchased at upscale department stores and specialty stores worldwide.

Jennifer Lopez

• JLO started her own clothing line in 2005 called Sweetface. She is planning to also start an accessories line including jewelry and scarves, hats, and gloves.

• She frequently uses animal fur in her designs and this has brought her some scorn form PETA and other animal friendly organizations.

• Besides being known for her clothing lines and fragrances. JLO who is of Hispanic descent is known for her multiple marriages, singing and acting careers.

• Additionally she is known for her glamorous style of dress.

Venozuelan born Carolina Herrera is known for her elegance and straight-forward approach to the world of womens fashions.

• She has been working in the fashion industry for over 17 years and her work included training with Cristobal Balenciaga.

Herrera comes from a long line of statesmen and landowners. She is known for her wedding designs and perfumes especially.

She has spent a significant amount of time designing and interacting with royals and even Andy Warhol.

Her newest line of fragrances and other products can be purchased world wide.

Adolfo Sardina was born in Havana Cuba. He came to the United States in 1948 . After that he moved to Paris to work with Chanel and Balenciaga and began to design hats.

In 1962 he launched his own clothing design house.

He is best known for his hat design including the 1960’s straw Panama Planter’s Hat.He enjoyed working with velour, fur.He started out working in hats but then developed clothing designs to be work with them.

13 offers 7 different labels under one roof. Gizbo, Biohazard, SunTzu, daSouza, Montana, Blackmarket, and Spoon. They also specialize in in skater and graffiti items. One unique feature is that they allow customers to pick their own music while they shop.
