The La Habra Life Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian community organization, dedicated to promoting the

Sanctity of human life from the moment of fertilization and promulgating the high moral ethics expressed in the

Judeo-Christian tradition. We seek to carry out this basic philosophy in a practical manner by offering positive help

to women in a crisis pregnancy through counseling, education, and practical help.

I am struggling to report negative stories when Thanks-Giving and the Christmas Season are such

joyful times. I am reminded that the glorious event of our Lord’s Birth is at the same time

overshadowed by His flight into the desert from the clutches of Herod, who is

plotting his murderous thoughts against the Newborn King.

As always joy and sadness are intermingled as are the stories in our Newsletter.

* We have been obedient to commit to 40 days for Life every Wednesday

morning. One of our friends submitted the poem below:

The parking lot was full at the abortion clinic today

I stood on the sidewalk where I could pray

for the mothers who drove in and then went inside

for the mothers who would never hear their baby cry.

For the babies born too soon, And first breath never taken

Their trust in their safe womb forsaken.

The parking lot was full at the abortion clinic today

And as the cars drove out with windows closed and eyes straight ahead

They couldn't hear me and my heart broke as I prayed

"Break my heart Lord, for what breaks yours"

And then my heart broke when I counted car eleven

And the little eleven souls returned to heaven - Patti O’Haggerty Smith

News you can use

Black Lives Matter! Really???????????

Protecting Black Life. A pro-life organization

conducted a survey and found that 78 percent of 173

abortion facilities are within walking distance of

Black and Hispanic/Latino communities, indicating

that Planned Parenthood continues its strategy of

targeting minority communities for abortion.

In total, a whopping 90 percent of Planned

Parenthood’s current surgical abortion facilities are

within walking distance of a college or a Black or

Hispanic/Latino neighborhood. Clearly with intent,

Planned Parenthood has placed 35 percent of these

facilities to target both of these vulnerable

demographics from each location.

Planned Parenthood argues that it places its facilities to serve poor communities with “reproductive health care.”

However, our study documents that P.P. specifically places its surgical abortion facilities in poor minority areas. For

women from these areas, P.P.’s idea of “reproductive health care” is clearly abortion. The abortion giant “serves”

them by killing their babies and getting paid for those “services” with our tax money. P.P.’s annual report shows that

over 94 percent of the pregnant women they “serve” receive an abortion. Only 5 percent receive pre-natal care and

just 1 percent are referred for adoption.

It is a fact that abortion is the leading killer of Blacks and Hispanics, more than all other causes of death combined.

In 2010, approximately 330,000 Black babies were aborted, compared to 286,959 Black deaths by all other causes. In

the same year, 275,000 Hispanic/Latino babies died by abortion, compared to 144,490 deaths by all other causes.

Over their lifetime, Black women are five times more likely to have an abortion than White women, and Hispanic

women are 2.3 times more likely. These trends are frightening for the future of minority communities, and are

arguably rooted in the continuous targeting of minorities by the abortion industry.

Openness to life is at the center of true development. When a society moves towards the

denial or suppression of life, it ends up no longer finding the necessary motivation and energy

to strive for man’s true good. If personal and social sensitivity towards the acceptance of a

new life is lost, then other forms of acceptance tha are valuable for society also wither away.

(Caritas In Veritate, n. 28 then Pope Benedict XVI)

Two companies in California, DaVinci Biosciences and

DV Biologics, (right here in Yorba Linda) have

been illegally profiting from the sale of aborted baby

body parts. Thankfully, the Orange County District

Attorney’s Office is suing these two companies for

selling hundreds of baby parts around the world and

making millions of dollars in the process. We thank

District Attorney Tony Rackauckas for his efforts to stop

this disgusting trafficking in baby body parts. It is a

grave evil that must be stopped.

Hitler Nazi Program rearing its ugly head again! Headline: Belgium is expanding Euthanasia to the Mentally Ill.

(Hitler called them “useless eaters”)

Through the ongoing efforts of Father Ed Becker, Pastor of Our

Lady of Guadalupe Church, Stephanie Baker was invited to our

parish, to give first-hand information about the dangers of the

proposed ‘Assisted Suicide’ bill; she warned of abuse and our

need to get involved to fight it. Through last minute maneuvers

and shenanigans in Sacramento the bill passed and Governor

Brown signed it.

I remember Stephanie, a wife and mother of four, who is

diagnosed with scleroderma, as an upbeat woman despite her

terminal illness. She is now reporting that: “when the Assisted

Suicide law was passed, it was a week later that I received a letter

in the mail saying they were now going to deny coverage for her

promised and approved chemotherapy ,” instead she was told: ‘we do provide to our patients the assisted suicide pill ,

and you would only have to pay $1.20 for the medication!’

She reports that other ‘terminal’ patients in her support group now feel discouraged and express their feelings:

‘Let’s just get it over with’.

Thank you, Father Becker, for staying the course, for offering these informational talks…..even though the numbers of

participants were disappointingly small.

On a totally different subject, the response to the ‘Pennies from Heaven’-‘Baby Bottle Drive’ was

most heart-warming. Motivational talk at the end of the Sunday Masses resulted in a “run” on

baby bottles. Thank you to Becki Maffucci, Betsheba Orona, Robert Kaiser, Ofelia Garcia, Sylvia

Lauder, Eva Solis, and Shannon Trott for a job well done! Mrs. Judy Kremer, 7th grade teacher at

OLG, again engaged all OLG students in the project; they managed to collect well over $500.00.

Coins felt like kisses, paper bills and checks like hugs. Bottles are still being delivered to the parish

office. THANK YOU FROM OUR HEARTS TO YOU ALL !!!

• The number of clients coming for assistance has increased slightly. No Ultrasound yet.

Listening patiently to our moms regarding their daily struggles is saving lives too. Privacy keeps us

from giving details. Many are desperate for true love, especially from their family members.

• RN’s from Cal State Fullerton requested the one time use of our office to teach young

mothers parenting skills; an opportunity for them to earn credits, and a win-win for ‘our mothers’

as well.

• A photographer from the Diocese recently called to volunteer his skills to take pictures of

our client moms with their children; his Christmas gift to them!

To all of you who are ’hanging in there’ with us: a big Thank you for

‘hanging in there’ with us and showering us with sacrificial love and

concern in our efforts to serve our clients and to make abortion

unthinkable !!!

May all of us again experience the simple wonder and joy of the

approaching most holy Christmas! It will strengthen us when we

experience the scorn, persecution and abandonment our Lord felt during

His Life here on earth.
