kythe ateneo clp do's and don'ts 2011
DESCRIPTION
Be guided accordingly!TRANSCRIPT
Before a CLP 1. List your name in the online sign up sheet at least
TWO (2) days before the CLP. Offer transportation if you
wish. We wish!
2. If you signed up and suddenly have a change of
plans, inform the project head right away. If not, they will
be expecting you and you may cause delays.
3. If you expect to arrive later than the meeting time,
inform the project head to know if you can still be
accommodated.
4. Eat a full meal and take vitamins before going to the
CLP.
5. Leave all your emotional baggage and school issues
in school. If you can’t, don’t attend the CLP.
6. If you have any other questions regarding the CLP,
contact the project head.
During a CLP 1. Be at Xavier Hall (IN YOUR COSTUMES) by 12noon for
briefing. The cars leave at 12:30; if you’re not there within that
time or unless you text any of the CLP core team informing
him/her of your reason for being late, the ride goes without
you.
2. When you arrive in the hospital, go directly to the Kythe
Room, listen to the project head and get your activity kits and
nametags.
3. Be courteous to the hospital staff. Greet our Ate’s in the
Child Life Center.
4. Befriend the parents. They don’t bite.
5. Be in the moment. Empower the kids.
6. Try to speak in the language of the kids and the parents. (It
helps to be updated with the movies, telanovelas and latest
gossip!)
7. Warn the kids how much time you have left. Prepare them
by saying “alis na ako in 15 minutes ha” so they won’t get
surprised.
8. Say goodbye to everyone: the kids, the parents, hospital
staff, and even to manong guard.
After a CLP 1. Process either in the hospital or in a restaurant near
the hospital as shall be instructed.
VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER:
HAVE FUN!
Remember this day is about celebrating
LIFE!
Before a CLP 1. Back out last minute please
2. Panic or worry. (If you do not know what to do or
expect, feel free to text any Kythe officer.)
During a CLP 2. Be indifferent with the hospital staff
3. Clump together and form cliques. Try to approach the
kids personally.
4. Be overexcited with cute babies and drag them away
from their mothers. Behave!
5. Force the kids to do your structured activity. If they
really won’t, don’t.
6. Play around with medical equipment and explore
interesting rooms.
7. Take pictures with your camera or phone without
permission. Respect their privacy! If you wish to take
some pictures, politely ask permission from the Child
Life Specialist, the parent or guardian and of course, the
kid.
8. Pretend you know how to diagnose diseases and
explain medical procedures. Refer the kid to the Child
Life Specialist instead.
9. Give any of your personal things, candies, toys or
gifts. There are loot bags prepared for them. If you wish
to share anything, inform the project head days before
the CLP to make sure it is allowed and enough for the
whole ward.

After a CLP 1. Process in the car or taxi.
