He spoke to students at Ridgewood Comprehensive School as Young Enterpriselaunches its Company Programme for the new academic year.

The visit came as sign-ups for the Young Enterprise Company Programme in Yorkshire

and Humber increased by 11 per cent in the year up to September 2012 as increasingnumbers of UK schools and business leaders call on the charity to help young peopledevelop business skills.

The Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Intellectual Property at the Departmentfor Business, Innovation & Skills visited Kingsford Community School in Beckton andSt Marylebone C.E. School in Westminster were present along with 10 volunteers.

He said: Unemployment remains a key challenge for this government. I thinkheres a direct link to unemployment in that if one can spur teenagers on early
