KUZ'MA ANDRIANOVICH ANDRIANOV (ON HIS SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY) Dear Kuz'ma Andrianovich: The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the Division of General and Technical Chemistry, the Institute of Heteroorganic Compounds of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the Editorial Board and Editors of the journal "Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya," cordially con' gratulate you on your 70th birthday. Your fundamental investigations in the chemistry of high-molecular-weight compounds, especially organosilicon compounds, have served as the basis for the development of the domestic industrial produc- tion of organosilicon polymers. You have been a pioneer in the development of the chemistry of organo- silicon compounds. You have developed the basic principles of the synthesis of polymers with inorganic principal chains of the molecules -- polyorganosiloxanes and polyorganoheterosiloxanes. The constant combination of theoretical investigations with practical developments, characteristic of all the studies con- ducted under your supervision, has led to the organization of the industrial production of heat-resistant organosilicon polymers, essential for the development of modern technology. You have been active in scientific organizational work, serving as the Chairman of scientific councils and a member of the editorial boards of a number of scientific journals. You have paid much attention to the training of highly qualified scientific staffs as well, supervising the Chair at M. V. Lomonosov Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology. The government has highly esteemed your scientific and social activity, awarding you many orders and medals, conferring upon you the Lenin and State Prizes of the USSR, and conferring upon you the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. We wish you, dear Kuz'ma Andrianovich, good health, and further creative successes. KUZ'MA ANDRIANOVICH ANDRIANOV

(ON HIS SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY)

Dear Kuz'ma Andrianovich:

The Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the Division of General and Technical Chemistry, the Institute of Heteroorganic Compounds of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, the Editorial Board and Editors of the journal "Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya," cordially con ' gratulate you on your 70th birthday.

The constant combination of theoretical investigations with practical developments, character is t ic of all the studies con- ducted under your supervision, has led to the organization of the industrial production of heat-resis tant organosilicon polymers, essential for the development of modern technology.

The government has highly esteemed your scientific and social activity, awarding you many orders and medals, conferring upon you the Lenin and State Pr izes of the USSR, and conferring upon you the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.

We wish you, dear Kuz'ma Andrianovich, good health, and further creative successes .
