“revolution” (from the Latin revolutio, "a turnaround") is a fundamental change in power or organizational

structures that takes place over a relatively short period of time. Revolutions have occurred throughout human

history and vary widely in terms of methods, duration, and motivation !

“revolution” describes perfectly the 2018 racing season of Kurt & Raf Platteeuw from their loft in Rumbeke,

Belgium. Over a short space of time – 10 weeks specifically – they dominated and changed the whole ethos behind the pigeon sport in their National racing. Winning 124 x top 100 National prizes, and 10 KBDB National Ace Pigeons including 7 in the top 9 of the All Round category … record breaking !

round family, which comes naturally when pigeons are played and tested – not left behind and selected – if they are good, they will do it all !

14.5.19 : 1st & 2nd Interprovincial Blois 4,845 birds But enough talk about past years … let’s look at this year … and last weekend, which saw Kurt & Raf wipe the floor on Blois – the race considered by most Belgian fanciers to be the preparation before the National season. Listing only the top 100 positions … they have 3 in the top 10 from 4,485 old birds, and 19 in the top 100. In the yearlings from 1,892 birds they again have 3 in the top 10 and 17 in the top 100.

The Platteeuw system They keep the same as last year … sending all pigeons … not one left

at home. With revolutionary training and playing methods – no

antibiotics – hard selection – only the strong will survive. The team were prepared as always with Platteeuw Yellow Crystals to clear the

heads of any mucus (essential for optimum performance); Vanrobaeys Platteeuw Special No. 523 corn mix; Platteeuw Yellow

Drops on the food and one drop in the nose on return from the race;

Platteeuw Eye Drops. On the return they use Recup Fast and Carbo Plus for recuperation. All birds are treated the same – old, yearlings,

cocks, hens – same food, same products. No products are put in the water – only on the food. On the day of basketing, the cocks are

given 20 % sports in the food and extra small maize and peanuts.
