WHAT IS TRUTH?Real truth will be revealed to us when we find out what isgood, what is better and what is best (cf. Rom 12: 1-2).

This revelation is possible only in silence.

Bodhidharma is considered the first Zen Patriach. He was theman who took Buddhism from India to China in the sixth century.When he decided to return home, he gathered his Chinesedisciples around him so he could appoint someone to succeedhim. He put their powers of perception to the test by askingeach of them this question: "What is Truth?"

Dofuku said: "Truth is what is beyond affirmation and negation."Bodhidharma said, "You have my skin."

The nun Soji said, "It is like Anand's vision of Buddhaland -glimpsed in a flash, once and forever."

Bodhidharma said, "You have my flesh."

Doiku said, "The four elements of wind, water, earth and fireare empty. Truth is no-thing." Bodhidharma replied, "You havemy bones."

Finally the Master looked at Eka who bowed low, smiled, andremained silent. Bodhidharma said, "You have my marrow."

the five external senses and five internal senses and keepingthem under her control.

The Gospel says, "His mother treasured all these things in herheart" (Lk 2: 51b).

In silence God spoke to her and told her what was true andwhat was false; what was right and what was wrong; what wassinful and what was virtuous and what was good, what wasbetter and what was best!

She was prepared to be the servant of the Lord. A servantthinks nothing, speaks nothing, does nothing and he or she justwaits for his or her master's command and obeys him.

Let our dear Mother Mary help us be aware of the powerof silence and bless us with the courage to be silent.

The President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Inida,

Baseelios Cardinal Cleemis, called on the Prime Minister, Shri

Narendra Modi. It was a courtesy call.

The President of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India

presented to the Prime Minister a short write up. In which, among

other things, while mentioning certain concerns of the Catholic

Church of India, he had also expressed the desire of the Catholic

Community to invite his Holiness Pope Francis to visit our country

and the Prime Minister assured that he would do whatever is

necessary from his part in this regard. The meeting with him was

very cordial and pleasant.
