    Kuk Sool Anniversaries

We celebrate 60 years of Kuk Sool Won™ this year.

We are also celebrating 15 years of Kuk Sool Won™ in

    New Zealand.

This month we hope to commission a t-shirt for the anniversaries and will have order forms ready for late

    June.

We have changed the month we hold our Student of the

Year awards and demonstration to August

and this event will be part of the anniversary celebrations.

We will be organising an afternoon tea in August to celebrate the anniversaries and present the Student of the Year Awards. We hope

    you can all come along.

We plan to book the RSA hall and ask everyone to

    bring a plate.

The provisional date will be the 25th August. Please pop

this in your calendars and we will confirm the date once the venue has been

    booked.

Thanks for all your support. SBN Caroline & JKN Jane.

    Etiquette

Etiquette is an important part of our martial art. Here are a few etiquette pointers. We will include others in future newsletters.

    • When entering and leaving the dojang (hall), turn to face the flags, bow and say Kuk Sool.

    • Please arrive to class a few minutes early so you can participate in the bows at the start of class.

    • When bowing at the start and end of class, make sure your hands are in your belt in between your bows.

    • It is OK to roll your sleeves on your uniform up slightly, but they should not be rolled up above your elbows.

    • It is OK to ask questions, but it is not good etiquette to question or challenge your instructors.

    • It is also not good etiquette to ask to be taught anything. Your instructors know when you are ready to learn more.

Facebook and Website Marketing for Kuk Sool

We try to put lots of photos and Kuk Sool posts of interest on our Facebook page regularly. Every Thursday we share across the local community pages to build the amount of visitors to our website and Facebook page. We are always looking for ways to find new students and just recently this has been quite successful. If you see one of our posts please like and comment, as this keeps it running for longer on the community pages.

JKN Jane is writing a weekly blog, which you can sign up for on the website page. If you visit the blog page and wait for a few seconds a pop up will appear for you to sign up. The website page is: https://www.pukekohemartialarts.co.nz/blog. Again we share the blog where ever we can to build a presence on the internet. The blogs have been picked up by a number of Kuk Sool around the world and JKN Jane is becoming a little famous. The blogs are designed with students in mind, so please take a moment to read them and comment.

Finally, if you didn’t see DBN Margaret on Facebook then you have truly missed an awesome event. With over 2,000 views and 27 shares around the world, DBN Margaret has become a legend, inspiring everyone, and showing that age is no obstacle to trying new things. Here is the link from Facebook for the video.
