SAFETY

AIR FILTER

Always isolate power for the airconditioner from electricity mainsbefore cleaning or maintenance.

It is important to check and clean theair filter as per the MaintenanceSchedule. A dirty air filter will not allowthe correct amount of clean air to passthrough your air conditioner, resultingin poor performance and increasedrunning costs. Please follow the belowsteps:-

1. Pull the front panel out and up fromthe bottom as shown.

2. Remove the air filter and clean witha vacuum cleaner. If it is very dirty, wash with mild soapy water (below45°C) and wipe off. Dry in the shade.

3. Make sure it is completely drybefore refitting it. You should neveroperate the air conditioner without theair filter in place.

Ensure drain connections are checkedon an annual basis (as set out in theMaintenance Schedule below). Drainscan become blocked by all types ofinsects, and rats have been known tochew through the drain to get to thewater in the pipe.

The Outdoor unit has either one or twofans, it draws air through the applianceto expel the heat generated during thecooling cycle. We recommendchecking that plants haven't grown intoor around the air intake or outlet, alongwith other debris that may build upover time, namely, leaves and the like.

A lack of refrigerant, due to a leak, willcause the compressor to overheat andexpire prematurely. You will notice adecline in cooling effect and anincrease in power consumption. Therefore, having a qualified, licensedtechnician service your air conditionerwill save you money in the long term.

OPERATION TIPS

The following events may occur during normal operation:

Compressor protection• The compressor cannot restart for 3 minutes after it stops.

The supply air drops below a pre-determined set point; this preventsthe indoor coil from freezing.

A white mist may generate due to a large temperature differencebetween air inlet and air outlet on COOL mode in an indoorenvironment that has a high relative humidity.

You may hear a low hissing sound when the compressor is running orhas just stopped running.

This sound is the sound of the refrigerant flowing or coming to a stop. You can also hear a low “squeak” sound when the compressor isrunning or has just stopped running.

This is caused by heat expansion and cold contraction of the plastic partsin the Unit when the temperature is changing.

This is a normal condition when the air conditioner has not been used for along time or during first use of the Unit.

This is caused by the Indoor unit giving off smells permeated from buildingmaterial, from furniture or smoke (for example if someone is cooking food).

When indoor air temperature reaches the setting on the remote controller, thecompressor will stop operating and after approximately 60 seconds the indoorfan will stop blowing air. When the room temperature rises back to the setpoint, the indoor fan and the compressor will start again.

1. Protection of the air conditioner.

2. A white mist coming out from the Indoor unit.

3. Low noise of the air conditioner.

4. Dust is blown out from the Indoor unit.

5. A peculiar smell comes out from the Indoor unit.

6. FAN operation during COOL mode.
