KriskaDECOR is a company that makes highly original metals curtains and partitions. Their pro-ducts offer an abundance of architectural, lighting and interior design solutions along with many options for demarking and partitioning spatial environments. KriskaDECOR’s products are manu-factured with small, interlinked pieces of anodized aluminium that form a lightweight, versatile mesh.

There are infinite ways to stylise KriskaDECOR’s curtains. Each customer is at liberty to create their own – from the combination of colours to the addition of logos, patterns and artwork. The manufacturing process is flexible enough to ac-commodate designers with specific projects and the company can fulfil all measurement require-ments.

Thanks to the special anodizing process, KriskaDECOR’s chain curtains are resistant to most climatic factors – fresh and salt water, sun-light and rust, friction and oxidation – meaning that they are suitable for use indoors and out. What’s more, they are fully recyclable, easy to clean, hygienic, non-flammable and very lightweight – weighing only 3kgs per square metre (approx.).

Founded in 1926 by Josep Maria Sans Amill, KriskaDECOR continues to be a family-run com-pany. Now headed by the third generation, it is based in Montblanc, in the Tarragona region of Spain.

Presently, KriskaDECOR exports 59% of their out-put to nearly 40 countries, including the US, New Zealand, Russia and South Africa.

KriskaDECOR curtains have been used for demar-king environments, decorating interior and exterior spaces, as decorative murals, advertising elements and for stage and TV sets. They are ideal for bars and restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, offices, en-trance halls and large public spaces and also as ephemeral decorations for trade fairs, conventions and lighting installations, or anywhere original ar-chitectural experiences in are sought.

The first KriskaDECOR collection by Claire Davis has been created to offer decorative solutions to home spaces, boutique hotels, restaurants and re-tail environments. Customers can select design proposals from the catalogue and they come ready for installation at the requested size and include rail and anchoring plates. Their installation is quite easy and does not require any specialized know how.

DETAILED DESIGN

The manufacturing process used by KriskaDECOR makes possible the most intricate details in your curtain’s design. All 28 available colours can be combined, and colour intensity can be adjusted over the length, giving the image greater realism and depth.

Page 6: Kriskadecor 2013Sff Press Release

Standard spacing, where each piece of the mesh is parallel, gives a smooth and regular appearance and a mesh density of 78 per metre. (image 1a)

HalfDrop spacing uses a mesh density of 100 per metre and gives a more compact appearance, with few spaces and thus affording more privacy. (image 1b)

KriskaDECOR curtains are available in two den-sities, regardless of the size, colours selected or fitting systems. They refer to the spacing between the linked pieces.

MADE TO ORDER PROJECTS

Arsenal Emirates Stadium, London, UK

For large-scale projects, KriskaDECOR works side by side with planners in order to meet technical requirements. A good example of this is the installation carried out at the Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium in London, UK. The stadium was designed by the HOK Sport architecture studio.

Various curtains were made for the dining room, printed with portraits of important people belonging to the club. As you can see in these images, the size of the installation was adapted to the width and height of the space.

Giant KriskaDECOR metal curtain at the Royal Ascot Hotel Apartment, Dubai, UAE

Page 12: Kriskadecor 2013Sff Press Release

The Royal Ascot Hotel Apartment boasts the largest KriskaDECOR curtain ever produced. The curtain is situated in the lobby and dominates the space with a height of 36 metres. Because of its size, the curtain is visible from all eight floors of the building. A special anchoring system had to be developed to sup-port its 800 Kg of weight and a glass cupola illuminates the curtain with natural light. The piece was designed by Sven Müller and bestows the environment with a twisting design in silver and lime colours.

KriskaDECOR curtains can be completely customized to size and shape, allowing curves, undulations and move-ment. The available colours can be mixed and matched.

NEW PROJECT

Showroom Talsee AG, Badmöbel, Hochdorf, Switzerland

Architects: Burkard Meyer in cooperation with Konform AG

Page 14: Kriskadecor 2013Sff Press Release

For the new showroom for the bathroom furnitu-re company Talsee, the Swiss architecuture firm Burkard Meyer required an innovative installation consting of chains hanging from the ceiling. Fo-llowing the architect’s creative brief, KriskaDECOR created a new modular system for the project.

The client reception area has been installed in the central area of the installation. The varying lengths of the chains (the longest measures 7,80 meters) form a ‘rain passage’ that separtes the different functions of the showroom, creating a ‘room’ inside each one. Clever lighting creates a surreal and magical ambiance.

This project is the ejemplary of KriskaDECOR’s es-sence; besides custom making specific designs for the project, the company can also develop an insta-llation system to suit the space. All these processes, from the development of the product to the manu-facturing methods have been conceived in-house.
