Agro-eco Tourism
• A National Seminar on Agro-eco Tourism, first of its kind in India, was organized by Association for Coastal Agricultural Research on 19-20 January, 2005 at ICAR Research Complex for Goa, Ela, Old Goa.
• It was planned with an aim to review our knowledge concerning the concept itself in light of public economics, to propose appropriate answers to policy design and to draw lessons from relevant experiences.
• Further, the seminar deliberated on evolving a strategic tourism plan incorporating agriculture and nature (eco) tourism for the region, create awareness in the regional community regarding opportunities for entering the tourism industry and develop resources for training, education and promotion.
