The depiction of theposition of planets in the zodiac at the time and place of a person's birth is called the Janma Kundali or theHoroscope. The sign which was rising in the eastern horizon at the time of birth is called Lagna or theAscendant. The sign where the Moon is positioned is called the Birth Rashi and the constellation in which theMoon is situated is called the Birth Nakshatra.
