Private Sightseeing Transfersmaking transfers part of your holiday

Long-distance land-transfers can be a tedious experience. The bigger part of a vacation day can be lost with this.

Instead of sitting in the minivan for three, maybe even four hours straight, stop on the way, make it a roadtrip and experience the hidden gems along the road. Krabi Spesialisten “Sightseeing Transfers” will take you to beautiful temples, caves, hidden beaches, stunning viewpoints, re-freshing waterfalls and secret kayak-ing spots.

On the way you will stop for lunch at a traditional Thai restaurant or a small roadside fruit-stall to experience the original Thai Hospitality away from the buzzing tourist destinations. Maybe even take a guide with you so you get some background info during the trip and you turn a boring transfer into an exciting expedition.

Once you arrive at your destination you have more time to relax and enjoy your hotel-beach since you already turned your transfers into an excursion.

“Wonderful way to explore the Anda-man Sea”I was travelling to Krabi with my wife and 5 month old boy. As much as I wanted to spend a day sailing, I was quite concerned about how would my boy take it and will there be adequate shade and place for him to take a nap in the middle of the day. The answer...............Krabi Spesialisten !!!!.

“Amazing day visiting Phi Phi Islands”My boyfriend and I (both 25) were very torn about which tour company to go with once we arrived in Aonang as so many tours to Maya Bay, etc were advertised for any-where from 1200-2000 baht for a day trip ( roughly $35-60). We wanted a relaxing day and did not want a wild tour, yet didn’t want to feel like the youngest on board. This tour is exactly the best of both worlds.

“Fantastic day!”This tour is highly recommended! This tour offers great views, visits to fantastic beach-es, good snorkeling opportunities, deli-cious food, lovely drinks, nice sunset (if the

weather allows) and some great guides that manage to create a good atmosphere on the boat, and doing everything for the participants to get the best possible expe-rience!

It’s definitely not the last time I’ve been on this trip! :)

“A perfect day”Lovely sailing boat. Great stuff. Good food. And especially magnificent views!!!

Highly recommended!

“Very good service!”We have been on both a 4-island-trip with longtailboat and on a ride with elephants. Both has been absolutely perfect. On the day on the sea we had Sven as guide and that man is simply the best. Also the other two guides were great.

We travel with a 4-year-old boy and the suggestions we have got has been spot on.

The Swedish guy at our hotel has been really helpful. More helpful than the stuff from the company we travel with.

We recommend that you book different excursions with this company. You will not regret it!

—Tyglycka M

“Unforgettable experience”In a nutshell, we were particularly hap-py with the following:

- The boat team (Swen and Lane) was truly amazing, doing their best possi-ble to make our trip an unforgettable experience.

- They were very client oriented, friend-ly and well organised.

- A very important factor for us was that the team could communicate flu-ently in English which is not given in Krabi.

- All the places visited were incredibly beautiful.

Itinerary:Limestone Caves, Crystal Pool & Hotsprings

The unique geological history of Phang Nga and Krabi is responsible for an excit-ing mix of caves, lagoons and the iconic landmark limestone formations that make up Phang Nga Bay.

Once one of the largest prehistoric coral reefs on the planet, these high rising rocks and mountains are made of soft and porose lime stone. Washed out by

milennias of tides and rain, you can find a huge variety of cave systems in most of the mountains. In many of these caves you can find well preserved stalak-tites and stalagmites.

One of the larger caves is accessible by Land and is 1 hour away from Phuket, directly on the main road to Krabi. The huge cave system is inside a mountain the shape of an elephant and houses not only limestones but also a rare pop-ulation of the smallest bat in the world.

We will spend about 1.5 hours to ex-plore the cave system of the “Elephant’s Stomach” by Kayak, bamboo raft and on foot.

After another 45 minutes drive we will arrive at Tha Sai Restaurant for a tradi-tional Thai lunch and to enjoy the stun-ning views over the mangrove forest of Phang Nga Bay - the largest healthy

mangrove system in Thailand. Keep your eyes open for wildlife. Sometimes you can see a rare white bellied sea eagle or huge monitor lizards in the water.

2 hours further we will arrive at one of Krabi’s most famous landmark, the Emerald Pools. Through the porose limestones that make up the base of the Area pushes emerald green wa-ter into these crystal clear pools. We arrive late enough in the afternoon to avoid most of the tourists that come to swim there.

Another relaxing one hour stop at a natural spa in the volcanic hotspring makes the day complete and we arrive at the hotel in Koh Lanta just before Sunset.

Mountain Temples & Mangrove Rivers

Phang Nga is famous for its moun-tain- and cave temples. Some of these are rather busy with Tourists while other temples are hidden and mostly undiscovered gems.

On this sightseeing trip we will visit the famous Bangriang Temple in Thap Phut. This contemporary tem-ple is built right on top of a moun-

tain range in Phang Nga. It boasts some impressive structures and statues in a large area overlooking the limestone mountains of Phang Nga.

Wat Bang Riang is famous for its 109m high Chedi and the white statue of the chinese godess Kwan Yin - the godess of compassion. Many Thai Buddhist come here to meditate or make merit, but rarely any Tourist visits this temple.

Further up in these mountains, tucked away in a valley, we will visit another impressive but by tourism untouched temple: Wat Tham Nakarat - the Dragon Cave temple.

The monks in this temple brew their own herbal remedy and are famous in Thailand for treating HIV and cancer patients. We will spend some time ex-ploring this temple before we continue our road trip.

About one hour south of Bang Riang Temple we will stop at the scenic Kao-Thong Terrace Restaurant for a tradi-tional Thai lunch. Situated on a terrace overlooking Phang Nga Bay the restau-rant offers a stunning view of the famous islands in the bay.

Just 20 minutes down the road we will stop for a stroll through the “fairy forest” of Tap Phom. A river with crystal clear water joins the sea water of Thalane Bay in a hidden mangrove forest.

Rare species of plants, birds and fish can be found here. And if the weather is right we can be witness to the spectacular light effects of the sun in the crystal clear waters of the river.

Temples, Kayaking & Oysters

Maybe the most famous cave temple in South Thailand is the ancient Wat Tam Suwan Kuha. According to the legend about it’s foundation, a local monk found this system of three big caves while on a walk in the jungle. He went into the cave to meditate and during this meditation he got the assignment to build a temple.

Since King Rama V (1868 - 1910) all Kings

have visited this temple and carved their names into the cave walls.

The centrepiece ot the temple is a large reclining Buddha statue and further into the back of the temple we will explore the limestone caves for a while. If you feel like it, you can also feed the hoards of macaque-monkeys outside of the temple.

Only 15 minutes further we will visit a completely different temple: Wat Tham Ta Pan - The Temple of Heaven and Hell is one of the very few temples in Thai-land that depict the punishments for various sins in the buddhist hell. While most of the cave temples are a either of Thai Buddhist or Chinese architecture, this one is mixed: animistic, shamanic statues, Thai Chinese gods and godesses and hinduistic mythology coexist here.

After another 45 minutes drive we will arrive at Tha Sai Restaurant for a traditional Thai lunch and to enjoy the stunning views over the man-grove forest of Phang Nga Bay - the largest healthy mangrove system in Thailand. Keep your eyes open for wildlife. Sometimes you can see a rare white bellied sea eagle or huge monitor lizards in the water.

For the next stop we need our swim suits: Not far from Tha Sai Restaurant we will meet our Kayaking guides that will take us on a one hour roundtrip through the mangrove forest to a floating village of oyster farmers. You will even get a chance to try fresh oysters directly out of the water.

James Bond Island

The 1974 James Bond movie “The Man With the Golden Gun”, starring Roger Moore and Christopher Lee, made Phang Nga Bay world famous. One Island in particular: Koh Pingan with its signature rock “Khao Tapoo” - nail rock in English - is still attract-ing many tourists from all over the world.

Eventhough it is probably one of the most visited sites in South Thailand it is still a must-see.

We will park the car in Phang Nga town and take a private longtailboat to James Bond Island. There you will have some time to explore the caves and take pic-

tures of the adjacent James Bond rock.

On the way back through the man-groves, past some amazing Limestone formations we will stop at the floating village of Koh Panyi for lunch. The origi-nally nomadic “sea gypsies” make some amazing food on the island. After lunch your guide will take you on a sightseeing tour through the labyrinth of houses on stilts.

Legend has it, that about 400 years ago some families of malaysian pirates came to the bay to seek shelter from the storm and founded the village. On a walk through this island you can sometimes feel like a time-traveller or at the set of a movie.

Wooden walkways lead you to a mosque, the “floating school” and soccer field that has it’s very own story to tell...

Three Temples

Thailand is famous for it’s huge variety of temples. From the ancient temples of Ayutthaya to modern temples in Bang-kok, from small roadside shrines over im-pressively large palace-like buildings to the mountain and cave temples of South Thailand. Whether you prefer Temples of chinese architecture with round-bellied Buddhas and Dragons or Thai Buddhist

temples with the famously beautiful buddha statues.

In Thailand you can also find Hindu Temples as well as the weirdly different temples and shrines for the ancient an-imistic beliefs that predate the Therava-da Buddhism.

Thailand has been a country where many religions have been coexisting peacefully throughout the centuries.

On our journey through the temples of Phang Nga we will focus on the cave temples that the region is famous for:

Tham Tapan - the Temple of Heaven and Hell is our first stop in Phang Nga town. It is dedicated to the punishments that expect sinners in buddhist hell. The depictions are not for the faint-hearted. This temple is suited for adults. Children might get some bad dreams. If you’re travelling with children or if you have

a weak stomach you might want to substitute this temple with Wat Tam Suwankuha from our tour “Temples, Kayaking & Oysters”.

The second temple will be Bang Riang Temple in Thap Put after Lunch at Tha Sai Restaurant.

The last temple is the famous Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi: Up to only 50 years ago there were still Tigers living in the jungle surrounding Krabi. Some of them used to live in a cave up in the mountains cose to this temple.

If you feel up for a challenge, we highly recommend you to climb up the 1237 steps allt the way up to the top of the mountain temple. The view is arguably the best in Krabi.
