• TheMontvalechapterhashelpedraisemoneyfortheWoundedWarriorsProject;SergeantSullivanCenter(anorganizationthatpromotesimprovedpost-deploymenthealthforourreturningveterans);andtheParamus,NJVeteransHome.

Increased Support for Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard Military

KPMG’senhancedmilitaryleavepolicyprovidesactivedutymilitary,andmembersoftheReservesandNationalGuard,withupto12monthsofdifferentialpay.Inaddition,ReservistsandGuardmemberscantakeaMilitaryLeaveofAbsencewhenonassignmentorintraining,andreceiveupto12monthsofdifferentialpay.

• TheSeattlechapterparticipatedinastudentveterans’paneldiscussionattheUniversityofWashington,andhostsfrequentcommunity-serviceeventsandfundraiserstosupportorganizationslikeFriendsoftheVAPugetSoundFisherHouse.ChaptermembersalsovisitFisherHouseeachquarter,preparingandservingmulti-coursemealsforupto40peopleatonce.

• InStamford,memberslaunchedOperationThanks,whichdrawsonthestrengthofKPMG’sFamilyforLiteracyprogram.Chaptermembersvisitedalocalschooltodistributenewbookstomorethan150children,andaskedthemtodrawpicturesandwritethank-younotestosendtowoundedmilitaryatWalterReedArmyMedicalCenteraswellastroopsoverseas.

• TheBostonchapterhostedaholidaygiftdriveandaDayofServiceatalocalveterans’shelter.ThegroupalsoparticipatedintheMemorialDayflagplantingatBostonCommon.AndamemberofthechapterservedasGrandMarshallforthecity’sVeteransDayparade.

• InHouston,chaptermemberscreatedcarepackagesforthe“CareforOurTroops”drive.ThepackagesweredeliveredtofourunitsofsoldiersinAfghanistanovertheholidayseason.MembersalsoorganizedandparticipatedinOperationThanks,writingletterstoservicemenandwomenoverseas,andparticipatedinHouston’sVeteransDayParade.

• Chaptersacrossthecountryholdregular“JeansDays,”raisingthousandsofdollarsthataredonatedtolocalveterans’organizations.
