Koninmy city

Konin is a city located in central Poland, in the eastern part of the Wielkopolska (Grand Poland) on the Warta River. The population of the city is now 80, 000 people.

St. Bartholomew ChurchThis church is very beautiful. There is the Milestone next to this church.

The Milestone The oldest signpost which marks the halfway between two towns – Kruszwica

and Kalisz.

Catholic church located in the village of Lichen Stary near Konin

THE City Park named after FREDERIC Chopin (a famous Polish composer)

It is located in the old part of town. It al so has the mini-zoo.

MUSEUMThe seat of the museum is the towerless castle. Next to the castle there is a skansen of the rural architecture

The most precious exhibit shown in the Museum is the largest skeleton of the forest elephant found in Europe in 1984.

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN FESTIVAL OF SONG AND

DANCE IN KONINThe Konin festival is the biggest event of its kind in Poland,

and one of the largest in Europe. Every year some 2000 – 2500 young artists from Poland and abroad participate.
