Security features available

KONE elevators can be linked to any card readersystem for controlled access to the elevator and to particular floors of the office building.

After activation of the PIN code feature, the usermust enter a numerical code into the Car OperatingPanel before pressing the desired floor.

Key switches can be used to activate/deactivatelanding call stations and/or special features of the elevator.

Glass walls/doors enhance security by allowingpeople outside the elevator to see into the car at all times.

Remote monitoring allows floors to be locked outremotely. A security guard can activate a switch atthe building entrance to immediately return a car to the entrance floor if needed.

A CCTV camera in car allows a remote security desk to see into the car at all times. This preventsvandalism and helps to identify people in the car.

Car Operating Panels

The Car Operating Panel includes all interfaces needed by the user:■ Call buttons■ Special function buttons and keys (e.g. alarm,

door open)■ Emergency light■ Floor position indicator■ Informative messages (e.g. call locked, priority

calls, elevator under Fireman’s drive)■ Provision for remote monitoring and two-way

communication with a KONE service center

The key button for a PIN code enables access to special control options (e.g. for VIP service or to givepriority use during removals, rubbish collection etc.)and to control the operation of the optional fan.

For security reasons the control system can be set to stop in the mainfloor (where security personnel arelocated). Security settings can also be changed via the KONE E-Link™

remote monitoring feature.

The Quick Close Call option is anadditional feature to the close doorsbutton. It starts to close the doorsimmediately after a call button ispressed. If the doors are re-opened,the close doors button can then bepressed to re-initiate closing.

As an extra security function, an interface for badge readers canbe provided to ensure that tenantshave access only to their floors. This is particularly useful for multi-tenant office buildings.
