“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.”Do you remember learning to type on a manual typewriter? This was the sentence that most of us used to practice typing, but now it has a more profound meaning. We now have 6 states that recognize homosexual marriage in some form. As I was reading over the 10 Commandments, I noticed the lack of a command that said thou shalt not be a Republican or thou shalt not be a Democrat. I did read a command that says thou shalt honor thy Father and Mother. As I read this command I had to read the translation to make sure it was not a general statement like ‘honor your parent/parents’, which we could then stretch to mean you can honor your father and father or you can honor your mother and sperm donor. Nope there is no ambiguity in this, or any of God’s commands. We are to honor, and thus take God at his word, one Father (man) and one Mother (woman). I don’t believe we should shrink from our beliefs whether we are talking to our children, our co-workers, or our elected officials. We are to form our moral conscience and then act on it. Tomorrow when you focus on your reflection in the mirror as you shave and brush your teeth; answer the question as if Jesus was asking you. “Is it time for all good men to come to the aid of their country?”

Brothers,Here we go with a new Fraternal Year. I appreciate all that you do for the Church, Community, and Council. I also appreciate the support you have given me over the years. I have decided to make this “The Year of the Family”. Being the Holy Family Council has special meaning to us all and we should all be proud of our accomplishments. This means I would like to concentrate more on Family Activities. Jason has set the bar very high. I would like to buy a house in Chattanooga and make it an MR house. Once we remodel it we can turn it over to the state. I am always available for comments and suggestions, since this is a democracy. God Bless,Richard –GK 593-4356
