Thebeewassingleeliminationandinthefirstround,seventhgraderRyanPadden,fifthgraderHayleyNybakken,andsixthgraderJoeDunningmisspelledaword.
Inthesecondround,seventhgraderSandyViste,sixthgradersShaeFisher,NatashaChamberlain,andKiraRosencranslosttheirseatsalongwithfifthgradersTaylorPadden,NolanViste,andDaltonKautz.ThirdroundbroughttheendofthecompetitionforeightgraderAirienAckermanandseventhgraderRyanScanlan.
SeventhgraderChyAnnClampittlostherseatinthefourthround.SeventhgraderJeffYossandeighthgraderTraftonMayhewlosttheirseatsinthefifthround.
Inthesixthround,eighthgraderMadisonSibleymisspelledawordtotakethirdplaceleavingsixthgraderChloeKoesslandfifthgraderNicoleWilliamscompetingforfirstplace.
Thejudgeswerefifthgradeteacher,Mrs.Peteandsixthgradeteacher,Mrs.Bengochea.ThespellingbeewascoordinatedbyMrs.Fisher,andthepronouncerwastheassistantvolleyballcoach,Mrs.Fast.

Nashua 7th graders put on Mini Pre-school OnWednesday,February24th,Nashua7thgraderswerereadytotakeonchilddaycare.Inotherwords,theminipre-schooltheyhaveeveryyear.Thepreschoolisaminiteachingexperiencetoteachvariousskillstoagroupofpre-schoolers.Theattendingpre-schoolerswereSamKelm,ZevinKummerfeldt,TiaDees,andAlysonMelius. The7thgraderssplitupintofourgroupsandeachgrouphadafocusfortheirstation.ChyAnnClampittandSandyVistedidastoryandapuppetshowcalled,“TheThreeLittlePigs”.RyanPaddenandRyanScanlandidatestinggamethatfocusedonmathskills. JeffYoss,JordanKeys,andTrentonStahldidaplaydoughstationtoteachhardmanipulatives.IlahCarpenterandMyKaylaLaucknerhadacoloringstationthathelpedthekidslearnhowtocolor. Theattendeeshadsomehealthysnacks,puttogetherby7thgrade.“Everyyearthe7thgradersworkreallyhardtoputtogetherthisexperienceandeveryyearweallhavealotofthem,”saidMrs.Hanson,whoorganizesthisprojectwith7thgradeeveryyear.

cakeinthelibrary.Wehadrootbeerfloatsforparticipatinginthechangewar.ThisFridaywewillhaveice-creamsundaesforourFebruaryreadingreward.We’rereadingaboutdifferentculturesandthespecialthingspeopleeat.Wewilltakeatouroftheschoolkitchenandhaveyetanothertreat!
Mardi Gras The5thgradecreatedmasksforMardiGras.TheydiscoveredthatMardiGrasisFrenchandmeans“FatTuesday”.Itisalways46daysbeforeEaster.Theyworebeadswiththeirmasks.
ThesearethrownoutatMardiGrasandrepresentsfaith,andgoldrepresentspower.AnotherbitofinformationtheylearnedwasabouttheKingCake.Mrs.Petersonbakedababyinacake.Thepersonwhogetsthebabyissupposedtobakethenextcakeorplanthenextparty.AliandRyleighbothfoundababyintheirpieceofcake.OtherfactstheylearnedaboutMardiGraswerethatNewOrleansiswhereMardiGrasiscelebratedthemostandMardiGrasstartedinthe1300s.

Third Grade Supports Boys’ Tournament Themothersoftheboys’basketballteamaskedthe3rdgradeclasstodecoratesacks.ThesacksweretobefilledwithgoodiesthattheteammemberscouldenjoyontheirwaytothedivisionaltournamentinMaltaonFebruary18.WespentpartofFriday,February12,decorating23sacksfortheplayers,cheerleaders,andcoaches.Wehopetheteamenjoyedoursacksasmuchasweenjoyeddecoratingthesacksforthem!
