decides to invade England.
Elizabeth I Elizabeth I, who was the daughter of Henry VIII, became Queen of England in 1558. She survived plots and rebellions against her, and executed her cousin Mary Queen of Scots because she saw her as a threat to her throne. Elizabeth also defeated the Spanish Armada - a vast fleet of warships sent from Spain.
Henry VIIIHenry VIII was King of England from 1509 until 1547. He is famous for having six wives! Despite having so many wives Henry only had three children. One son, Edward VI, who became king when he was only 9. Henry also had two daughters, who would become ‘Bloody Mary’ and Elizabeth I. Henry VIII was also responsible for breaking away from the Catholic Church and creating the Church of England.
